Hey dear community, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new contribution and hope you had a weekend full of interesting experiences! In this article I would like to go into psychology and hope you are able to expand your knowledge.

In psychology, trauma is understood as bad events from the past which are deeply anchored and the word itself is derived from the Greek and means as much as wound. Most people experience a traumatic event during their lives which is associated with certain reactions and which kind of can be attributed to the type of experience which can be characterized by a short or long-term moment and traumatic events are usually associated with the development of fears and people with traumatic experiences often tend to suppress them which leads to the development of different reactions and often people tend to compensate certain events with other things and traumatic events are also often the reason for the development of certain anomalies or addictions. Traumatic experiences are always linked to certain perceptions such as places, colors, smells, sounds or other sensory perceptions and these are stored deep in the subconscious and certain triggers arise and if one perceives certain associations that were associated with this event again at later times, it happens that these moments are repeated and they are revived and depending on the person this can be very pronounced and cause serious physical symptoms. It may also be that certain traumatic events reach back so far in time and people no longer know or have repressed them and in these cases it is particularly difficult to recognize these triggers and people also have reactions in later times when they perceive certain things and often do not know why and this can also be associated with traumatic events from earlier times or childhood.

Quite unconsciously, the behavior is also adapted to these events and people automatically try to avoid certain places or other things that were associated with these events and often you can see that people are very irritable and there are different behaviors which can be different from person to person. The resulting reactions are a natural protective mechanism of humans to recognize certain threats and shield them and traumatic events often lead to very complex behaviors that are not easy to recognize, especially because of all the links. Often symptoms of traumatic events only show up later and this is also called post-traumatic stress disorder and whether it occurs depends entirely on how a person dealt with the trauma and each person reacts very differently to certain events and process them differently, but if you eat certain traumatic events into yourself, the probability of post-traumatic stress disorders are much higher. The equivalent of this can be described as post-traumatic growth and some are of the opinion that it is possible to emerge strengthened from these events and there are different strategies on how to use certain traumatic events for the own growth and some people often emerge stronger from certain traumatic events, but in psychology this topic is often controversial and not always applicable and there are numerous factors that influence this topic.
