The Painter Jean-Marc Nattier
Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing well and you had a day that brought some interesting experiences into your life! Today I would like to go into the exciting topic of art and hope you are able to expand your knowledge.
To be seen here is a painting by the French painter Jean-Marc Nattier (1685 - 1766) and this work in which he has depicted Marquise de Baglion as Flora is an absolute masterpiece which brings out its unique style well. His works can be assigned to the Rococo era and he himself already comes from a family of artists and was influenced early on by his father who was a passionate painter and he taught him in many ways and prepared his son for a career as an artist. He attended the Academie Royale in Paris whose foundation was promoted by King Louis XIV (1638 - 1715) and he began to copy works by some well-known artists early on and made his first successes and was praised by various sides for his works and he even won his first art price at the age of 15. His brother Jean-Baptiste Nattier who was also an artist had a strong influence on him and the two also created some works together and his popularity as an artist increased more and more and he had some opportunities to exhibit his works and he was even offered opportunities abroad to expand his knowledge even more, but he first decided to stay in France in his hometown of Paris and paint there. Only in the year 1717 he decided to go to the Netherlands to the city of Amsterdam where members of the Russian nobility became aware of him and decided to promote his work and he created portraits of the emperor Peter I and his wife Catherine I and this opened some doors for him and he even got the offer to become a painter at the Russian court but he decided to go back to France. He was generally considered very proud of his own homeland and he also dealt a lot with the mythology of other cultures which should influence many of his works and he spent most of his life in Paris and also got some orders from the royal family there and made some contacts and his works were praised from various sides.
Many thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new about art history! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens.
