You can see here some breathtaking paintings which originally come from China and are part of the Mei-Lin collection which is known for the huge variety of reverse glass paintings. This collection is known throughout the whole world and regularly exhibited in various places and includes paintings of women, mythological scenes as well as other influences of Chinese culture and from the era, it includes paintings which were created during the Qing dynasty as well as the later period of the 20th century. One of the origins of this art is probably in the Persian Empire and it's a form of glass art that differs in the technique or used colors and the oldest works probably come from Europe where it was already practiced in the 14th century where the works mainly served a religious purpose. At that time, Italy was one of the places from which it had spread more and more from Venice in other European countries, but it should take some time until it has found more and more acceptance. The 18th century can also be described as the heyday of this art form at which methods were found to produce more works of art with mass productions to satisfy the ever-increasing demand and this was also the time when the techniques came to China and were increasingly appreciated. These works of the Mei-Lin collection convince especially by the elegance or diversity and the love for detail comes out well and it can be said that each of these works has its own story to tell and everyday situations have been combined with the culture or symbolism of the country.

This kind of art cannot be done by every human being, it takes a lot of time, a lot of things have to be thought and understood, and then beautiful pictures are prepared.

Glad to see your interest in Chinese art :) I find it interesting in this form of art how more cultures merge with each other when it comes to the origin.
