The Artist Josef Scharl
Hey dear community, at the beginning I would like to welcome you all to my new post and hope you all had a weekend which was full of positive experiences! In my new contribution, I would like to write something about art history and hope you are able to expand your knowledge.
You can see here is a convincing work of art by the painter Josef Scharl (1896 - 1954) who was born in the German city of Munich and already early on, he developed a great interest in art and began to attend an art school in Munich and trained as a decorative painter there. He was considered very open to art and looked at different epochs and he decided to invest his free time into art and regularly attended courses and took every opportunity to get in touch with other artists and in 1915, he was called up for military service where he has been wounded and was therefore out of action for some time and had to go through many hospitalisations. After this difficult time, he had more time to devote himself to his passion for art and he began to attend an academy of arts, but he was considered more an freethinker and realised that he's a guy who taught himself things better, which is why he left the art academy again and continued his education independently to later start a career as a freelance artist. It didn't take long until he sold his first works and had success and at the beginning, he exhibited his works alone and later joined various artistic associations which helped him to expand his horizons and also he began to visit exhibitions with others to present his works which had helped him and the other artists to make a name for themselves. He also visited other countries and dealt with foreign culture and art and was particularly fascinated by the painters of the French school and he stayed there for some time and learned a lot about new art epochs. During the Second World War, he and his art were strongly oppressed and later he decided to move to America where he made the city of New York his new home and here his artistic career picked up again and he made himself more and more a name as an international artist but he often had strong homesickness. Later he became ill and his health deteriorated more and more and he spent a few years in Switzerland where he regenerated again and a year later he went back to New York where he died in the year 1954.
Many thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new about art! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens.

I didn't know anything about him but after your post I have come to know some special things about his life.
Happy to see that you are also interested in art history and you appreciate it.
