Ko Hung was an alchemist and philosopher from ancient China and not much is known about his exact lifetime, but it is assumed that he had lived between the years 284 - 600 and probably lived in the province of Kiang-su and he already grew up in a family of occultists and already his uncle has made a name for himself as an alchemist and there are even legends that he had reached immortality. Ko Hung had not taught himself his knowledge of alchemy alone and there were legends that he had received divine advice and the gods appeared to him one day to give him some writings in which the secret knowledge was and this was the basis for him to become one of the best alchemists and he dealt with pretty much all sides of alchemy and in addition to the spiritual side, he was also a master in being able to artificially produce medicine or metals. He was also considered the author of various writings in which he shared his experiences with alchemy and provided answers to important questions, and for a long time in his life he dealt a lot with mythology and the cult of different gods and was also considered an supporter of Daoism. Once he freed himself from the burdens that stood in his way and tried to develop his higher self and this was also the time when he had been increasingly concerned with eternal life and achieving this became one of his main goals and he tried many different practises to achieve this and in addition to the consumption of medicinal plants, he was of the opinion that this could be achieved with the help of the own spiritual side and he was shaped here by Daoism. He was convinced that much of it took place on a psychological level and only those who wanted eternal life should achieve this and so many things can be tried, if someone does not really want it, some things will not bring anything and only when the will is so anchored, people can achieve eternal life. Very little is known about his childhood, but it is suspected that he had to struggle with some hurdles at an early age when he had lost his parents and already in early years he learned things in different areas as well as important basics which later should strongly affect his works.
