Spirit and the Work in Alchemy

Hey dear community, at the beginning I would like to welcome you all to my new contribution and hope you have a week which is full of positive experiences! I took the time to write something about alchemy and hope you are interested in this topic and can learn new things.

Alchemy is about more than practical work and before someone can start a work it is important to first deal with the development of the own self as well as the spirit and in the philosophy of alchemists, it is not without reason that before one has understood this no practice can begin. Although it is possible to start alchemistic works such as the creation of artificial gold or the Philosopher's Stone, you will not find your way before you have gone through the different stages of spiritual development and to clarify this a little better, there are different metaphors in old writings such as the garden of philosophy or wisdom in which you can only get if someone has the right key which in this case does not refer to a physical object, but to the spiritual side. If a person should get into the garden without this key, it will be useless because he cannot find his way and before someone can harvest the wisdom, they must first have access the own spirit and this example can be related to the production of the main work the Philosopher's Stone. The spiritual development, which is also known as inner alchemy, is a lot about dealing with the own self and getting rid of things that burden a person and at the end of the development, the previously separated spirit that someone have brought to enlightenment should be connected again with the physical body and thus the alchemist will become a higher being who is ready to enter new worlds.

During the spiritual development, one learns the basic stages which can also be transferred to practice and as soon as the mind is in harmony with the rest of the body, an alchemist can begin to create things on a material level and a well-known sentence from alchemy is the Latin term Solve et Coagula which means to dissolve and coagulate and this also describes the process in which one separates the psychic level from the physical one, brings it into a better state and then add it again to the whole and this step can also be considered with the stage of enlightenment. This path can also be considered as the way from darkness into the light and already the well-known Hermes Trismegistus who can also be considered as creator of alchemy and hermetics once ran through the darkness for a long time to search for wisdom and later realized that the duality between darkness and light was important to reach wisdom. Much of this can also be related to practice and before a substance can be brought into a higher state, the matter must first be separated and when this has been improved, the time has come to add it again to complete the work. Reports by numerous alchemists show that some have first received food for thought in order to deal more with the spiritual side and for some it were occult experiences such as phenomena or experiences such as near-death experiences and other things that have changed the state of consciousness. It can also be said that the spirit must be on the same levels with the soul before the work will be completed and only if an alchemist has the path of enlightenment behind him will he be able to complete the great work.
