Spider flower (Cleome)

Good day dear community, at the beginning I hope that you have a week so far which is full of interesting experiences! In my new contribution I would like to go into nature and present a plant and I am happy if you can learn more things.

You can see here pictures of the spider flower which I shot a few days ago and the plant which originally comes from South America is also known under the scientific name Cleome. It is assumed that it originally comes from the countries of Argentina, Brazil or Paraguay and the appearance of some parts of the plant is somewhat reminiscent of the legs of spiders and the exact origin of the botanical name is not entirely clarified, but it is suspected that it could be derived from the Greek. In the meantime, it has also spread on other continents where it is particularly popular as an ornamental plant and is cultivated in gardens and due to the appearance, it fulfills the purpose as decoration well and is also extremely interesting from an ecological point of view and attracts different types of insects from June. As the tropical origin suggests, it needs a warm location which is located in the sun and normally it does not tolerates temperatures below ten degrees and dies at the end of the year. When it comes to care, it is relatively adaptable and it can survive for some time without watering, but care should be taken to stay in a healthy medium when watering and keep the soil fresh and to avoid waterlogging and who wants the flowers to be particularly developed should fertilize sufficiently. It can be said that the spider flower can be interesting for anyone who is looking for a plant that is valuable from an ecological point of view and also requires decoration, but it is very important to mention that it has toxic ingredients and therefore it should be avoided to plant it in a location where children or pets are located!

Thanks a lot for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new about nature! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens.

This beautiful flower is called spider flower. Nice to know. It is a poisonous plant, pets will not eat it because they are very aware of it. But children should be kept away from this plant

Good that you also mention again that people who plant it should pay attention to it!

I always said that purple color in flowers attracts our eyesight and offers a great morning as well. Very beautifully arranged petals and pretty natural piece.
