Hey everyone, at the beginning I would like to welcome you all to my new contribution and hope you all had a day which has brought many interesting experiences into your life! Today I would like to talk about nature and hope you can learn new things.

Recently I made some pictures of the Scurfy deceiver which is also known under the scientific name Laccaria proxima and it's an edible mushroom which can be described as relatively neutral or spicy in taste. There are different ways to use it and if you want to preserve it, it can be worth to dry your discoveries and if you can only find small quantities, people can also combine it fabulously with other mushrooms. It can be found already from the summer and if you are lucky, you can find some specimens even during the cool times in December, but this of course always depends on the conditions that prevail in the region. From the size, the Scurfy deceiver is rather inconspicuous and is also sometimes confused with other species and it can be recognised by the hat or stem which typically have a brown or red color and the stem is hollow inside and therefore the fungus can be described as very brittle. Which color the mushroom has always depends on age and with young specimens the it's even more intense and fades over a longer period of time until it loses the typical color and also the lamellae have a strong color at the beginning and become white over time but it is recognisable because of the unique structure of the lamellae, but I would like to mention in general at the end that if people are looking for mushrooms should always have a certain scepticism and if a specimen is unknown, you should simply leave it or seek additional advice to avoid complications!

Many thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new about nature! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens.

Laccaria proxima is an edible mushroom that I learned from your post. You are right that we should not eat mushrooms that we do not know about because they may be poisonous. Amazing photography

I am neither a fan of mushrooms nor an expert, but you gave us a good piece of advice about mushrooms. Some species can be fatal!

Thanks for the informative post :)

Very motivating for me to see that you educate yourself in a variety of ways and give the topic a chance, even if you are not a huge mushroom friend :)
