Reflection and Alchemy

Hey dear community, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new contribution and hope you have a day that has brought many new experiences into your life! In this article I would like to talk about alchemy and am happy if you can learn new things.

The development of the spiritual side was of great importance in alchemy and it was a lot about developing the own personality and for this, it was of enormous importance to come to knowledge through reflection with oneself. Some alchemists were of the opinion that it's only possible to recognize the true self through reflection and it was also about creating a kind of connection with the environment and the elements that can be found there and this form of philosophy or way of thinking was generally of great importance for the development of higher knowledge. Without reflection with nature it would probably never have been possible to recognize connections or chemical reactions that take place there and also natural forms such as reflections of water or metals fascinated the alchemists who tried to make use of them and an interesting example is the burning mirror from alchemy with which the alchemists could use the power of the sun to create fire to make their work easier. These kind of mirrors were made of thin metal as well as a bracket which was mostly made of wood and in itself this principle was nothing new and already in ancient Greece there were approaches where this was mostly used as a weapon and so according to legends, the physicist Archimedes already used a burning mirror to set fire to the Roman attackers who approached with the ship. Early on, Archimedes recognized that fire could be created with these tools even from a long distance and as a creative power, the alchemists used fire quite differently to be able to carry out their experiments that would never have been possible without the transformative forces and it was a significant relief to use the power of the sun which was also considered as a gift of sun gods such as helios or sol. Mirrors or reflections have also often been associated with the occult or mysterious things from a symbolic point of view and a look can help to get answers to hidden questions.
