Psychology Behind Hidden Messages
Hey dear community, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new post and hope you are all doing well! Today I would like to talk about psychology and hope you are able to expand your knowledge.
Without most people noticing, the brain is constantly surrounded by information that they not actively perceive and basically the stimulus is too weak to consciously perceive it and often people perceive hidden messages in this way. These subliminal messages are often stored deep in the subconscious and have a strong influence on thinking or acting and how this information is transmitted to the brain depends entirely on the medium and it can be certain images, sounds, videos or words that only appear for a fraction of a second and are subliminally absorbed by the brain. Often one speaks here also of so-called subliminals and in essence it are also all informations that does not overcome the speed of consciousness and in which area people often can see hidden messages is in the field of marketing where a lot of research has been carried out for decades with subliminals and these are used specifically for marketing purposes and in commercials you regularly see that they are used and with these hidden messages, the willingness to buy should be increased. The effects in marketing are really amazing and here people use certain stimuli and depending on the type and regularity of these hidden messages, the duration of the effect can vary but here the effect on the subconscious is not to be neglected and these hidden messages together with all other experiences or perceptions that have taken place at this time are stored and shape future decisions. From a psychological point of view, certain emotions are often caused and there is a change in behaviour, which can have both a negative and positive effect and here, of course, it depends on the type and the area of application which effect hidden messages show and each person has different ideals or experience values and reacts differently to these form of messages.
Some companies use this form of marketing very specifically to increase the awareness and are usually aimed at a large target group and often you can see in logos that hidden messages can be seen and only if people pay more attention to them, they will notice that the logos are often full of messages that are supposed to call for action or are linked to certain emotions, but usually so subliminally that people only understand the real meaning when they look more closely. These messages are usually linked to people's needs and connected with triggers and interesting is that this strategy can also reach people who otherwise would never have bought a certain product and companies can thus increase the willingness to buy of critical customers and suggest to the consumer that a certain product is the solution to satisfy certain stimuli such as thirst and if people are currently thirsty, they are particularly susceptible to it and as mentioned, it is also considered to bind it to needs. People can also use these methods to improve their own self and to program the brain in a certain direction with subliminal messages, and both in advertising or in everyday life, people are regularly surrounded by this form of information.
