Japanese rose (Kerria japonica)

Hey dear Hive Community, I hope you are all doing relatively well and wish you a good start to the new weekend! I recently photographed an enchanting flower which I would like to bring closer to you in this post!

In my pictures, the plant with the common name Japanese rose can be seen and the botanical name is Kerria japonica. Japanese rose is relatively easy to care for and originally comes from Japan and China and in 1834 it came to Europe, it was named after the Scottish gardener William Kerr. The flowering period starts from April and one of the first striking Characteristics is probably the wonderful yellow color of the flowers, which are also very insect-friendly and ecologically valuable.

Due to the hardy properties, it also copes well with cool conditions and prefers sun or partial shade, nutrient-rich and moist soils. A regular water supply is essential because it does not tolerate soil that is too dry or too wet and if the conditions are optimal it can easily reach a size of 2 - 3 meters.

Kerria japonica is a typical symbol of prosperity, happiness and psychic powers and also from a mythological point of view there is an interesting legend, hundreds of years ago a man threw gold coins into the valley and this plant has grown from it. A single flower has the size of a golden coin and when the sun shines on it, the plant has a golden radiance, which makes all honor of this legend.
