In traditional Chinese medicine or TCM for short, the balance between heat and cold plays an important role and it can also be associated with the principle of the duality of Yin and Yang and if this is not in harmony, the body has to struggle with problems and it comes to the development of diseases. While the Yin embodies the cool aspects, Yang is based on heat and within the TCM, people usually work with certain foods as well as their thermal properties which have these effects on the body and which foods or liquids are currently used depends entirely on the person because everyone has a very different structure and has different proportions of Yin and Yang, which must be brought into the right harmony. It can be roughly said that in TCM it is very much about using heat or cold for therapy purposes and there are, in addition to the food that affects the body from inside, various other methods with which the temperature of the body can be regulated from outside and certain lamps, baths, hot water bottles or other aids can be used for this. It is often important that the heat arrives exactly where it is needed the most and for this purpose needles are often used which are heated before acupuncture and can penetrate very targeted and deeply into the body. Which form of application or food is needed at the moment also depends entirely on the current season and during the summer it is important to use food that should cool the body and in winter the body should be warmed from inside with the right food. A balanced diet is also of the utmost importance and it is also important to pay attention to the reactions of active ingredients because some take a long time until they are decomposed again and of course a treatment without the right preparation is also not very effective and the understanding of Yin and Yang and how important the balance of it is can also be considered one of the most important basics of Traditional Chinese Medicine where the balance of the temperature is essential.

That's great to know about yin and yang. Maintenance of temperature is such a great thing to consider.

It is curious how different the East and West approach the same discipline as medicine.
