During the autumn, which is also known as the golden season, the leaves of the trees fall to the ground and the appearance of the landscapes is enchanted and it has its own charm when during this time of year trips are made and the leaves rustle when walking. The question often arises for people with access to a garden whether the foliage should be put together or not and it's a work that people can save which also has a positive effect on nature and supports the cycle. If the foliage is left on the ground or added to small piles, this offers the advantage that various small creatures find shelter there and thus increases the chance of survival during the cold months and if the leaves are not left lying, this deprives nature of an important basis and in addition to a place for small creatures, hedgehogs also often use this place to rest. If someone should feel disturbed by the foliage, it can be recommend to choose a small part of the free green space where the foliage can be stored as a pile and over a longer period of time, the foliage also turns into new soil and thus the contained nutrients remain in the circulation of nature and how long this takes, depends entirely on the temperature and on average it takes one to two years until the leaves become a new hummus again. Small organisms are responsible for this process and if the leaves are simply left lying over the winter, the quality of the soil is improved by the transformation where the leaves are and those who have the opportunity to throw them specifically into the compost can also do this, but care should be taken that some types of leaves take longer time. The possibilities shown save also energy because some people use electrochemical devices to remove the leaves and of course there are effects that can pollute the environment and in addition, a possible habitat for thousands of living beings is deprived.

Just as foliage provides shelter to small creatures, it also decomposes to produce green manure that is food for plants. Amazing photography

Beautiful photos!
My parents have several hedgehogs in their garden. We always had a corner of the garden where we put dead leaves, small branches etc. for them to live in.
