De occulta philosophia is probably one of the more well-known writings from alchemy which can be traced back to the author Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa von Nettesheim (1486 - 1535) who was considered one of the well-known personalities of his time who had dealt with various topics and can be considered a polymath. At the beginning of the 16th century, he published this work in which he particularly dealt with occult themes and there are various currents that flow into this work and so he dealt with mystical teachings such as the Kabbalah, astrology or other occult topics such as supernatural phenomena and his ideology was in this work to go into the hidden things that have emerged within nature. He shared his experiences there and learned early that if one examined the different elements of nature more closely and combines them, it comes to some supernatural phenomena and the connection of different properties was decisive for occult phenomena and he tried to distance himself more from science in this work and even rather criticised it in some points. A great influence on Agrippa von Nettesheim also had philosophers of ancient times who had already set up some interesting theses on occult topics and he regarded the whole world as a whole or a great soul and he was of the opinion that also each part should have its own soul and he also went into more detail on the chaos or the creation. He described that humans are divine beings and knew that they have hidden abilities which can be awakened with the power of thoughts and he was also inspired by various scholars from his time. Some sections of the work are also characterised by religious experiences or views and in alchemy it forms an important basis for the understanding and connections of occultism which are an important basis for different views.
