A Touch of Nostalgia

Hey dear community, at the beginning I hope that you are all doing well and you have a day which has brought some interesting experiences into your life! In this post I would like to go into an interesting phenomenon and am happy if you can learn new things.

Recently I shot these pictures of objects that others could connect with experiences from old times and this effect is also known as the nostalgia effect and this feeling is also associated with longing for past times. It is referred to as a kind of connection between the past and present and the trigger for these complex moments are usually always moments from past times and people have to see this topic as very diverse because different experiences are triggered in each person and nostalgic moments can be both positive or negative. Triggers can be certain objects that were important for everyday life, but it can also refer to certain sensory impressions, people or places and many of the nostalgic feelings also arises in connection with the culture such as past events or other things like art that have shaped this time epoch. From a psychological point of view, the nostalgia effect is very difficult to generalize because each person feels something different and for some it happens that positive feelings are triggered while with others it can be negative and nostalgic moments have a strong influence on the mental state and can cause all kinds of feelings. Many of these moments are also often stored deep in the subconscious of the person and triggering these moments can sometimes even lead to the development of diseases and especially with people who are already struggling with other problems, it can happen that nostalgic moments can intensify diseases and conversely it can help others to deal with feelings better and create moments of happiness. For many people it happens that the current time is compared with that of that time and the longing is reinforced and a large part of the people who are currently experiencing this effect are the opinion that things used to be better in old times and people like to sink into their own world during nostalgic experiences and combine these moments with protection or security and often makes people more optimistic.
