The Confusion

Ok, this is another morning, another day of me wondering what path to take, what area to venture, what life to live. Why am I so confused, what am I supposed to do. Is life suppose to even be this difficult.

Aliyah questioned herself over and over again, that’s all she ever did, day in and day out. Sometimes she wondered if she was even meant to choose a path or was she simply to wait for life to do that for her.

I have always wanted to be a writer, like a paranormal novel writer, I have read a lot of novels and I want to come up with a story. Only when I take a pen to paper I suddenly freeze and have my thoughts all jumbled up.

Aliyah had a good life, a nice job as the secretary to one of the best makeup production companies, great friends and a good house. She just wanted more, wanted to chase her dream.

"Aliyah Aliyah!" Janet shouted rolling her eyes, knowing her she most have zoned out again for the hundredth time that day. Janet walking exasperatingly reaches over and pokes Aliyah on the head, "back to earth Aliyah”. “Ughh Janet, I was having the time of my life living out my fantasies in one of my favorite paranormal movie just now, why’d you have to go and ruin it". Janet looking at her weird just says "The boss needs you to go check out the other establishment at the high way" .

Aliyah in her usual black leather jean and white shirt with her wild curly hair neatly packed in a bun struts out with file in hand to the bus stop.

On getting to road 5 where the company’s other branch is located, she noticed that entire place was way to quiet compared to the usual bustle of the place. The door already ajar, Aliyah steps into the building and too scared to take the elevator she decided to use the stairs.

The whole place gave an eerie feeling, and fear started to creep in. Aliyah wanted to go back but she had to see the manager and exchange information about the launch of their latest product in the establishment.

“Mr Dave, Mr Dav..” the words died on her mouth as she took in the scene, the manager’s office was totally scattered with books and files all over the place like someone ransacked the office and made a total mess.
Aliyah took off her heels to avoid making a sound and tip-toed to the next office where she found the remaining staff unconscious and under the desk, Mr Dave with them. She quickly calls the medics and saves everyone.

Everything was getting put back in place until they discovered that the disc containing their new project line, ideas and everything related was stolen. The entire staff was frantic because everyone was getting ready for the big launch that would put the company first amongst its competition. Now the disc had to be found but finding out who took it was the first step to doing that.

Aliyah leaving the establishment and heading back to her base office almost tripped and when she looked down to find what caused it she found a fancy rubber watch and picked it up, put in her bag and took a bus home. Because she couldn’t just bring the bad news to her boss without solutions.

The next morning she got a call from Janet, turns out the bad news had already reached her base office. Aliyah sighed and started getting ready to leave for work just then she opened her bag and saw the watch, she remembered someone who always wore it. She smiled mystery solved, they couldn’t come up with their own grand idea so they decided to steal ours she thought disappointedly.

That day when Aliyah showed up at the office slightly later than usual. She brought the disc and everyone was happy. Turns out it was John from a rival company that stole the disc luckily for Aliyah it was encrypted and John was unable to open it till she caught up with him, he apologized and begged Aliyah not to tell anyone that he was just facing massive pressure from his manager and overheard when Janet was talking on phone about a new launch.

The project was launched and Aliyah got a promotion.

Aliyah had did some thinking and decided to share her experience on a platform. Her writing dream had to start from somewhere.
