"Hold" - A Poem

Hold yourself tight
When you want to run
But you need to fight
Hold on
While you watch your strength go
Even as the pain grows
Hold on
Just Hold
Long enough
For the next test
Even when it feels relentless
Dig deep
Hold your breath
But one day
You'll breathe in again
And shine like you can't now
You'll find that you somehow
Made it past and through
So keep strong
Hold tight
To you

I wrote this one sometime around midnight. My hours are weird and you can't exactly tell inspiration to come back later when it's more convenient. Or maybe you can and I just haven't learned how yet. I should look into that, it might help me write more...🤔
