Soy orgullosamente venezolana y me atrevo a decir que la noche de fin de año es uno de los días más importante para todos nosotros ya que es la excusa perfecta para dejar todas las ocupaciones a un lado y reunirnos en familia a celebrar la llegada de un nuevo año, este año 2022 que se fue sin duda fue de gran enseñanza para todos sin embargo el solo hecho de poder celebrar este 31 de Diciembre con nuestros seres queridos es un gran motivo para dar gracias a Dios por permitirnos llegar a celebrar las fiestas decembrina.

I am proudly Venezuelan and I dare to say that New Year's Eve is one of the most important days for all of us because it is the perfect excuse to leave all the occupations aside and gather as a family to celebrate the arrival of a new year, this year 2022 that has gone was undoubtedly a great teaching for everyone, however the mere fact of being able to celebrate this December 31st with our loved ones is a great reason to thank God for allowing us to celebrate the Christmas holidays.

En mi familia estás fechas son muy importantes y especiales apesar de que somos muchos integrantes cada año un pequeño grupo de mi familia se reúne en la casa de mi tía materna que es la matriarca ahora de la familia ya que mi abuela murió hace algunos años, sin embargo en ese grupo familiar siempre tratamos de hacer algo bonito que recordar todo el año, por más difícil que está la situación en Venezuela entre todos colaboramos con un granito de arena para la elaboración de la cena y hasta el momento Dios nos a permitido proveer en nuestra mesa cada año los alimentos tradicionales como la hallaca, ensalada de pollo, ensalada, tortas y bebidas.

In my family these dates are very important and special even though we are many members every year a small group of my family meets at the home of my maternal aunt who is now the matriarch of the family since my grandmother died a few years ago, however in that family group always try to do something nice to remember all year, Even though the situation in Venezuela is difficult, we all collaborate with a grain of sand for the elaboration of the dinner and so far God has allowed us to provide our table every year with traditional foods such as hallaca, chicken salad, salad, cakes and drinks.

Unos días antes nos ponemos de acuerdo para comprar los ingredientes del plato navideño, entre mi tía, mis primos y yo para hacer de esta noche algo maravilloso, compramos todos los ingredientes para las ricas hallacas y la ensalada, un día antes entre todos la hacemos como dice un dicho " la unión hace la fuerza " de granito en granito se hacen maravillas, no es nada lujoso pero cuando hacemos las cosas con amor todo sale excelente, al llegar el 31 desde temprano comenzamos a limpiar y ordenar la casa de mi tía que es el punto de encuentro para todos la casa familiar principal como quien dice ya que en Venezuela es muy normal tener una casa a la que siempre toda la familia se reúne, tenemos una cultura donde pequeños se nos enseña a ser muy unidos.

A few days before we agree to buy the ingredients for the Christmas dish, between my aunt, my cousins and me to make this night something wonderful, we buy all the ingredients for the delicious hallacas and salad, a day before we all do it together as a saying goes "the union is strength" from granite to granite wonders are made, It is nothing luxurious but when we do things with love everything comes out excellent, when the 31st arrives early we start cleaning and tidying up my aunt's house which is the meeting point for everyone, the main family house as they say because in Venezuela it is very normal to have a house where the whole family always gathers, we have a culture where we are taught to be very united as children.

Este 31 de Diciembre nos reunimos los mismos de cada año agradecidos con Dios porque no tuvimos ninguna silla vacía, al contrario se va a sumar un integrante más a la familia que es mi hijo Maximiliano que aún está en mi pancita, en casa de mi tía Josefa nos encontramos mis primos Cristian, Daniel, David, Dalimar, mis hijos Santiago y Aaron, el ex esposo de mi tía Argenis y yo, la noche inicio sintonizando la radio 104.9 con el animador estrella de Venezuela Gregorio Valles dónde escuchamos las músicas populares de estas fechas las bellas gaitas, villancicos y música tradicional bailable, donde les confieso aprovechamos de bailar ya que es una noche de alegria.

This December 31 we met the same as every year grateful to God because we had no empty chair, on the contrary we will add one more member to the family which is my son Maximiliano who is still in my tummy, at my aunt Josefa's house we met my cousins Cristian, Daniel, David, Dalimar, my sons Santiago and Aaron, the ex-husband of my aunt Argenis and me, the night began by tuning the radio 104. 9 with the star entertainer of Venezuela Gregorio Valles where we listened to the popular music of these dates, the beautiful gaitas, Christmas carols and traditional dance music, where I confess we took the opportunity to dance since it is a night of joy.

Luego mis familiares tomaron algunas bebidas afrodisíacas como por ejemplo el ponche de crema y la sangría, yo en lo personal como estoy en estado solo tome refresco, disfrutamos de la noche conversando, riéndonos de todo lo vivido y recordando las cosas no tan buenas que nos pasaron este año, también aprovechamos de visitar un pesebre que hacen cerca de la casa de mi tía es sumamente bello y ocupa casi todo un portón, una creación maravillosa que mucha gente asiste a contemplar, compartimos con algunos vecinos, fue una noche muy amena y agradable todos la estábamos pasando muy bien, disfrutamos de unos fuegos artificiales por parte de unos vecinos.

Then my relatives had some aphrodisiac drinks such as cream punch and sangria, I personally as I am in a state only take soda, we enjoyed the evening talking, laughing about everything we lived and remembering the not so good things that happened to us this year, We also took the opportunity to visit a manger that they make near my aunt's house is extremely beautiful and occupies almost an entire gate, a wonderful creation that many people come to contemplate, we shared with some neighbors, it was a very pleasant and enjoyable evening, we were all having a great time, we enjoyed some fireworks by some neighbors.

Cuando se llegaron las 10 de la noche nos reunimos todos en la mesa y servimos el plato navideño que este año constó de hallacas, ensalada de pollo, arroz con pollo y panes, refresco y una rica torta de piña hecha por mi primo David que tiene un don maravilloso para la repostería, antes de cenar por supuesto dimos gracias a Dios por el año que se va por todo lo vivido, por permitirnos tener comida en nuestra mesa, por tener salud y principalmente por permitirnos estar todos juntos como familia ya que en estos tiempos muchas venezolanos se encuentran en diferentes países buscando un mejor futuro y debemos dar gracias por nosotros seguimos juntos.

When 10 pm arrived we all gathered at the table and served the Christmas dish that this year consisted of hallacas, chicken salad, rice with chicken and breads, soda and a delicious pineapple cake made by my cousin David who has a wonderful gift for baking, Before dinner of course we gave thanks to God for the year that is leaving for all that we have lived, for allowing us to have food on our table, for having health and mainly for allowing us to be all together as a family because in these times many Venezuelans are in different countries looking for a better future and we must give thanks for us, we are still together.

La cena quedó bastante rica, las hallacas y la ensalada tenían ese toque divino que solo mi tia le da, la torta divina todos disfrutamos está comida, luego de comer seguimos escuchando música, conversando y antes de llegar las 12 de la noche le dimos todo el volumen al radio, sinceramente parecía una cadena nacional todos los hogares sintonizamos a Gregorio Valles para despedir este año 2022, comimos las mandarinas al faltar cinco minutos para la media noche para pedir los deseos para este nuevo año 2023, nos reunimos todos en el medio de la sala hacer el conteo nos abrazamos y recibimos este año con alegría pidiéndole mucho a Dios porque sea un 2023 cargado de muchas bendiciones, prosperidad, salud y armonía para todos.

The dinner was quite delicious, the hallacas and the salad had that divine touch that only my aunt gives, the cake was divine, we all enjoyed this food, after eating we continued listening to music, talking and before 12 o'clock at night we gave the radio all the volume, sincerely it seemed a national chain all households tuned to Gregorio Valles to say goodbye to this year 2022, We ate the tangerines at five minutes to midnight to make wishes for this new year 2023, we all gathered in the middle of the room to do the count, we hugged each other and received this year with joy, asking God for a 2023 full of blessings, prosperity, health and harmony for all.
