Miss use of sugar

I have an interesting story today. I remembered what happened to me when I was young. It came to my mind as I faced similar thing today.

I was the cheif chef today, imagine how My food would be if God did not help me. I was to cook jelof rice. Hahaha! Each time I entered the kitchen my children use to rejoice. Guess why? I don't pity ingredients at all. Ingredients for 2 meals will be used for one meal: stock fish, crayfish and oil. But not include Maggi and salt oooh! Hahaha! I use to put stock fish, crayfish and oil without mercy.

As I stated cooking today, everything was going well. My children were happy that Daddy is in the kitchen cooking delicious meal. all of them were doing one thing or the other. The youngest always come to me time to time and says to me. "Daddy! Daddy!! My best cook."

While preparing the stew. Haven put other things remaining salt, I called my last son (the youngest of them all) to bring salt for me, as I saw that he was delaying me. I rushed in to get it myself and carry sugar thinking it was salt. As I was about to put the sugar in the stew, my son just came in with the salt, and said to me "here is the salt" I responded to him and said "take it back I have gotten one" as God may have it, he did not take the salt back immediately, he stood there watching me as if he knew what was about to happen. As I was measuring the sugar to put in the soup, when my son looked at it , he shouted " Daddy, don't put it. It is not salt" I then stopped and looked at it again. As I looked at it carefully I discovered that it was sugar.

I then remembered when I was young, I was staying with my uncle. One day I was to cook soup after putting every ingredients remaining salt, i carried sugar not knowing that it was not salt, I measured it enough and put it in the soup. When I tested it I felt the salt is not enough. I then added more sugar. That was how I keep putting the sugar thinking it was salt until I got annoyed thinking that the salt has lost its saltiness,

A thought just flashed into my heart, 'why not test the salt' as I fetched it and put into my mouth, only to discovered that it was sugar, meanwhile I had put anough of it. And the soup had started testing some how sweet that is abnormal.

As I remembered that day I then lowed my voice as I talked to my son and said "carry the sugar back" I then collect the salt and put it immediately.
