Bridging the gap between Ego and having Fun: My three tunes for the week
I stepped out to help deliver something to a friend and once I got to the area I decided to check other people I had known in the past. That's how I ended up in Daniel's salon and we try catching up while he played a series of music. I moved my body to the sounds of the tracks he chose until it got to this one.
Immediately the instrument started even before Iyanya's voice came on, I knew I had found one song out of the three songs to share on #ttt. I had a feeling you guys will love this song. When the track finished I asked Daniel what the name of the song was. He mentioned One sided. I committed this to memory hoping to place it on repeat once I got home.
I am writing this post using the song as inspiration.. lol.
It's a beautiful song. You can skip looking for the lyrics and just enjoy the voice of the artists and move your body to beat and the amazing chords and rhythms. Tell me you loved this song. I loved the choreography in the song although the director did not give much attention to that. I wish he did because they had cool dance steps.
The second song was recommended to me by YouTube. I did not realize Kiss Daniel had finally released the long awaiting song he promised. So when I saw Shu Peru by Kiss Daniel I knew I needed to see the video because this artist never disappoints and he did not.
And the lyrics are dope, he is telling us that we should leave any form of malice and jealousy and have fun together. All you have to do is drop your location and everyone might meet up to have fun because we are the happy people. He also finds a way to remind us that we are not too good or too bad and that we mostly do certain things either good or bad for a reason but he wouldn't use this to judge anyone because no one is holy. This is why he is asking everyone should lay down their fault and have fun.
I love the dance video, especially the form it took. The costumes, the scenes, and the settings were interesting. I commend the director. He did a good job.
When I first heard this song, Made You Look by Meghan Trainor, I placed it on repeat throughout the week... Lol. I didn't watch the video. I allowed my imagination to take its course. I imagined what she was doing with every line and lyric. I was however disappointed when my friend mentioned the video to me and I saw it.
The difference between my friend and I was that he loved the dance video and he was as enthusiastic about it as I was about the song and how my imagination flowed. I loved the beats too. I don't know if you'll love the dance video but I did not. I was hoping the scenes will depict the lyrics of the song. Especially the part where she said she looks great even when her morning hair is a mess.
The entire song is about how beautiful she is and how she can make you pay attention to her regardless of what she was wearing. So I was hoping the director will make her display each of those scenes with the various clothes and designer outfits she bragged about including waking up with messy hair. I can't tell what the director was thinking but overall it's a good song for women who are particular about their looks and find confidence in them.

That's good advice for about any situation! It's baffling that anyone is antagonistic to anyone else when we really all want hte same thing. We should just all dance together.
Meghan Trainor's songs and video's are always so much. that was a neat one to close out with.
I enjoyed those three tunes now I must say, two new to me and one well known from the radio. Thanks for sharing them here for #ttt, Shu-Peru was the pick of the bunch for me.
