Be proactive with your finances instead of reactive

Looking at the world, you might see the gap or should I say differentiation? The difference between those who think and of course those who don't think at all. The former seems to always be one step ahead of their enemies while the latter keeps getting nib in the bud.

The latter doesn't seem to care because they wallow in blame, self-pity, grudges, and every other negative emotion you can think of. While the former goes ahead and take care of their world, taking control and never letting go of the reins.

Those who think are not always taken unawares by events, and circumstances, they might have seen it coming and so they plan their escape right before the problem even happens. Yesterday, one of the city guys was having a mild joke with another, and he got a response that shocked him.

He wasn't expecting that response, and that was the kind of response that proved he lost guard. When we talk about it, he admitted he did not see it coming, and this was where I told him, he needed to learn to be one step ahead of his enemy.

He did add that I should have said two, instead of one, and I agreed, he could be several steps ahead of his enemy if he wanted and if he was, this puts him in an advantaged position.

There are so many people who are not proactive at all. They wait up for things to happen before they start making plans on how to sort it out. These folks are mostly reactive to circumstances and this is a terrible way to live.

If we always wait until something happens before we take precautions we might as well count ourselves dead by the several bullets, life is going to shoot into our souls. And it's completely inevitable to have life throwing punches at us, the only thing we can do is to be prepared to take those punches right before it hits us in the face and return them to life. The only time we will be able to do this is if we had been prepared. If we weren't, that's a completely different story as life will always take the win and leave us wallowing in disgust.

In Peaky Blinders, this was the person Tommy chose to be, the person who thought several steps ahead of everyone else. He was often cool, collected, and calm, but his head worked the magic of life strategically while no one is paying attention.

I am only seeing the first episode and it already seems he has all of his moves planned and nothing ever takes him by surprise. He allowed his brother Arthur to relax while he did most of the thinking. While Arthur saw short-term disasters, Tommy saw long-term benefits and he never wavered in his commitment to long-term results.

With the family business, Arthur seems to always be paranoid and reactive, but Tommy takes all the strides in and plans for eventualities even before they show up. He understands the family business is something that needs to be profitable but then he starts some of his plans with losses so the people can gain, by gaining, they will feel relaxed and keep thinking the plot will stay the same. Once the people relax, their business will strike and they will do it so hard that all the money they might have lost in the past, massaging the ego of the people will be recovered in one swift.

Staying several steps ahead of your opponent will serve you better than waiting around to strike after your opponent does. You need to watch the game on the board as though you are playing a chess game and try to work out each of your opponent's moves. It is the only way you can plot your way out of all his traps and webs.
