Turning raw data into useful data is difficult and expensive.

• Pattern recognition is required.
• Often AI is used or a really good algorithm.
• RAM is needed to store that data on the cloud with quick access.
• Monetizing the data is very difficult (often targeted advertising).
  • This means non-advertising is not easily scalable and by no means self-sufficient.

With these things in mind, we must realize that the news recently of the Secret Service having information about threats to Nancy Pelsoi's days before January 6th is totally irrelevant. Why were they caught deleting information. I mean... obviously because the information would make them look bad. But why would the information make them look bad? Because people are ignorant and looking for someone to blame.

This is a weird stance for me to take because I'd be the first one to say that obviously all government agencies are corrupt and do crazy illegal shit. While I love me a good conspiracy theory, that's not the angle I want to focus on today. I want to look at the other side of the coin and why it is basically impossible to go back in time and try to point the finger at someone after the fact.

How many threats are made on the Internet every day?

LOL! I don't even want to try to guess. The Internet is a place that people use for Catharsis and Rage Venting. They say stupid shit all the time that has zero credibility. What people aren't saying right now is that the Secret Service had information on thousands of threats before the January 6th "insurrection" (lol). Again, people are ignorant. They don't care. They want a sensational tagline and a threat to be afraid of, as weird as that sounds.

So if some random guy on Parlor was planning to start some shit on January 4th, 2021, how could anyone possibly know if that data is real or not? Again, most data is fake data. It's not possible to figure out what is credible and what isn't. Surely, certain flags going up make things more credible, but that goes back to the top of this post with the whole "need good algo and possibly AI". Simply having the raw data in a database is completely worthless.

So the reason that information came out hours after the Jan 6th "insurrection"? Uh, duh, because the new information that an "insurrection" is happening is now on the table. Now the Secret service knows it needs to check their backlog and look at everything that pertains to Washington DC. The threat to Nancy Pelosi's life only became credible after the "insurrection" actually started. Not before. But people don't care. They see a news headline and they thing "OMG there are TRUMP LOYALISTS inside the secret service" "wut we gonna do!?!??!".

Wouldn't you delete the data?

If you had a database that had information of a terrorist attack or a mass shooting or whatever else... wouldn't you immediately delete that info after it actually happened? It doesn't matter that you had no way of knowing the threat was real. It doesn't matter that there are thousands of non-credible threats in the database. Again, people are stupid, and if they find out you had the raw data sitting in a database the whole time? Yikes! The mob is gonna come after you.

THE MOB

If anything, this entire situation shows us just how justifiably terrified people in power are of angering the general population and triggering them. The mob is often an unstoppable wave that can topple any institution that is unable to navigate it properly. Hell, we had two governments overthrown recently just from price of gas and food going up. Imagine what happens if things get worse. The forward-looking indicators of the economy say it will; we might not have to imagine it.

There are a lot of conspiracy theorists who really dumb all this stuff down into an all powerful deep-state that controls everything. That is a ridiculous fantasy. Billions of dollars are spent just on taming the mob and keeping them docile and obedient. Even in the book 1984, Winston knew that the solution was "in the proles". AKA the mob. That is always were revolution gets catalyzed, and modern governments spend a shit ton of resources to avoid it. Ironically enough, calling Jan 6th an "insurrection" is all part of that deception. Making it seem as if the Trump could have actually become the president after the smoke cleared is a comical conclusion on so many levels.

Conclusion

Turning raw resources into useful resources is not a trivial process. Doesn't matter if we're turning iron ore into steel, or raw data into targeted advertising. These things happen underneath the surface of society, and ignorant people who don't know any better just assume it gets done for free via magic. Out of sight, out of mind. Easier said than done.

The rest of us realize that every part of the development process across the board is non-trivial full time job for anyone who enters that field. This is how the world works. This is why we are failing to scale. No one person can run around doing everything. One person can only get a very small amount of work done, and they need to hire others to accomplish the grand vision.

The problem with this model is that it strips the general population away from the means of production, and allocates all rights to centralized ownership. Sound familiar? Crypto fixes this.
