Reading Time with Market Friday

STOP!! BRAIN TEASER AHEAD!!
Answer! Can you guess??? Take the first letter of each word and place it at the end. It will spell the same word backwards.

your work is very wonderful for our community.
Thank you for the repost @pixresteemer! Much appreciated!
Sons had subscriptions to computer magazines all no longer published, now for me, no I never have bought or subscribed to magazines, used to read them in waiting rooms such as Outdoor Living or National Geographic.
Money was spent on books, many books over the years Denise. Nice collection you have!
We are book people, @joanstewart. The kids were homeschooled for quite a while and the magazines were a great way to reinforce grammar and vocabulary. Now, most don't read magazines, but, I still get them for my elderly relatives for Christmas gifts. They really enjoy them and don't like the computers all the time. Some, not at all. :)
I used to read them in waiting rooms, but, nobody has them right now and I wonder if they will go back to it? The timing of the pandemic and the sliding sales was no coincidence.
I have sorted through some of the books and donated them to the library. Thank you so much for stopping by!
#MarketFriday loves you!
Magazines over here are still quite popular in Travel, Gardening, Cooking in waiting rooms, sales still happen off stands in most outlets, although not the selection they once were.
Nothing beats the photography and descriptive writing to get ideas in ones own work, I still hold onto a couple I did enjoy that I have been given along with proper books. Most novels and encyclopedias have been donated out into libraries/old age homes to be enjoyed by many.
Times have changed much, younger folk listen to kindle which does not assist in written words to learn new in spelling nor punctuation. We have to accept the new and roll with it, I still refuse to use spell checkers since we were based on the English way of writing, spell checker picks up American English which is slightly different although I notice many now just accept the change becoming confused with what was taught and quick correction in writings.
Magazines still remain a firm favourite especially with the older folk, the smell of paper, being able to quietly page through and read. Have a wonderful day and weekend.
Hello @dswigle! Happy Friday! ☺️ I love magazines too and it's good to know the publishing market will grow to that magnitude. Its been a long while I bought hardcopy magazines because I am so used to reading mine on the internet.
It's only when I visit salons or supermarket that I get to touch glossy magazines! 😄
Thanks for the links to magazine sites and at a discount! Hehe... I'll check them out. I hope you are having a relaxing Friday. I miss the Christmas pictures in this post 😔 but the flower is lovely.
I went shopping for condiments and spice for stew and soups. Here's the link to my post. Have a great day!
I agree with you, I read a lot of them on the internet, but, I still love those glossy shots! There is something about the Scuba magazines and Nat Geo! Love them, and the photography magazines too. I admit it, I read online, for catch up news, but, it will never replace the bold and beautiful photography of the select magazines.
I look at the ones I don't get at the supermarket, standing in line. :))
Check them out. You may find one or two you like. Or even a Christmas gift! I am having a busy Friday, but, it is a nice kind of busy! Hope you are having one yourself! I had to go back and put Christmas in there for you! It was 3am and I really goofed! This morning, I corrected all the spelling errors and added Christmas!
Thank you for dropping the link here!

I never buy magazines myself but I do agree that there is something special about them. It must be the shiny glossy pages and the amazing photographs in them. Sometimes it's nice to just read some quick blurbs of information rather than putting the time in to read a full novel or book.
It is the shiny, glossy photographs! You hit the nail on the head. I do a lot of reading on the internet, but, I still like the amazing shots in Nat Geo and Scuba and many others like that. I guess I just like them both and want my cake and eat it. :))
There are many days I am grateful for the speedy information the internet feeds me, but, it feels so impersonal now, and the news on television is pretty much dismal so often, I try to read it off the internet as informative, not left or right.
Le sigh.
Whatever happened to unbiased truth? I feel like such a dinosaur when I want just the facts, I can figure out how I feel about it, all on my own. Thanks for stopping by! It is always a pleasure to see you!

I used to read magazines a lot, National Geographic and Photography related were the last ones I had subscriptions for but when we were coming up to retirement and planning a move I cancelled them with the thought to resubscribe when we were all settled, but I guess I never got around to it, I will click the link you left and check out what they have and maybe sign up for one or two, its better than the only time I read them now is waiting in a drs office LOl
Her eis my post for this week https://peakd.com/hive-194913/@tattoodjay/market-friday-r23gy5
Those are two of my favorite magazines and the photography ones they just keep on coming out with more and more but I pretty much stick with the few that I have. Nobody can touch National Geographic. They own it! My subscriptions come and go with time and sometimes I renewed them and other times I change over and try something new. It was a bigger deal when the kids were being homeschooled and it was important to me to have them available. I really find that it entices them with their glossy layout and superb articles. They are very much into technology but each and every one of them still sits down and read the magazines. Because the Internet isn't always so great with grammar, especially on different sites, I really appreciate that the magazine industry still uses proper grammar. It solidifies what they were being taught. And while there is nothing wrong with slang I think it's important for them to I know how to speak and write sometimes I think it's a lost art.
I hope you do check them out and I have no idea whether they've gone up in price but the last ones I got which were only a couple months ago we're still super cheap, and if they're not I don't bother. My doctor doesn't have them in his office anymore you know, covid. The office is so sanitized it's scary, and then again it's very comforting. Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to peruse the post. You came here early enough to catch all my typos and if I was doing it at 3 and 4 a.m.. I have sense fixed them. Whole world can see now how tired I was last night while I was trying to do it. Thanks so much for dropping your link!
#MarketFriday loves you!
I did notice a couple of typos I guessed you must have been tired when you did it
Same here with doctors offices no magazines since Covid
I do like sometimes to just relax looking through a magazine
Haha! More than a couple! I was so mortified, but, cleaned them up this morning. I was so tired, I was falling asleep and had a line of fffffff across the page. I knew I needed to end it quickly of there would be no post, I didn't even check it over. Yikes!
It's all better!
Thanks for your feedback, as always!
Hey don’t worry typos are unusual for you unlike me who has them all the time lol
Hello @dswigle, it's been a while have not read magazines. It used to be interesting, not only interesting but it develop your vocabulary as you made mentioned of it.
Thank you for this piece.
I don't just read for funs only. I also learn new words.
I would say that many people here have not, but, that wasn't surprising, Few on here homeschool, but, there is a very nice group here that does. I am sure they use magazines, if not for reading and vocabulary, for projects.
I actually still like relaxing to a magazine or book (sometimes I read the kindle, but, I still like books too!) The internet is a great tool, but, there has to be some time that we need to step away from this all-consuming piece of technology.
I read for all sorts of reasons, but, yes. not only fun! :)
Thanks for stopping by! #MarketFriday loves you!

A lot of magazines. These are truly educational journals I hope. thanks for sharing with us. God bless you my dear friend @dswigle
They are truly educations journals and everyone in the house has a great appreciation for them. I realize they are not for everyone, but, I like the availability of them and their beautiful format.
Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your words! I hope you have a wonderful day!

I thought paper magazines are mostly gone or gone the way of electronic.
Anyway, there's a typo in the year 20121
And of course, submission time:
https://hive.blog/hive-105017/@ace108/marketfriday-lunch-and-dinner-market-for-friday-or-by-ace108
No. Not at all! Paper magazines are alive and well. You have to remember that most doctors offices and reception rooms order a huge amount of them, which of course is on hold with covid. I'm not sure what happened to the subscriptions but I can tell you that during covid oh, the home subscriptions went and I think that has a lot to do with people being home. They were no longer getting their fix at the doctor's office. Thanks for the heads up on the typo and just so you know everybody in the world saw it except for me. I appreciate your time and of course your support! Thank you so much for dropping your link!

Nowadays mostly from the internet. I rarely read magazines. But if we talk about books, then I prefer physical books. Both paperback and hardcover. And I read a lot of books. Both in English and in my mother tongue (Hungarian) too.
My #MarketFriday entry for today:
A few stores around the bus station of Szolnok, Hungary - Market Friday (2021.11.05)
I think that you're probably in the majority with getting your information off the internet oh, and even myself I get a huge percent oh, but there's still something that I like about the glossy magazines. I will say that they became a staple when I was homeschooling my kids. I liked and then to read the articles as opposed to the internet because some of the sites have poor grammar. Not so much the ones that were of the newsworthy type but internet language is very much broken down in the way they speak with each other. Anyway, long story short oh, we are huge for people and have a library full. That is awesome that you can read in both languages fluently.
My kids still read both magazines and books and of course, the internet and appreciate the differences. Thanks so much for stopping by and for supporting the challenge!
It is appreciated that you also drop the link! Have a great day! Greetings from Washington DC!

Aww, this is lovely! I love the dinner plate setting and the print of Christmas tree on it. Beautiful! It would make a perfect yuletide gift for a family.
Hehe, now this post is complete! 😄 Thank you, @dswigle! 😍
Well, that makes me happy to hear that! :)) @kemmyb I love the Christmas set of dishes and they were a special gift from my parents for Christmas when I moved away from home. I love this pattern growing up and they gifted me a set! It really is enjoyed by the entire family now.
It says Merry Christmas, just looking at it! It is always a pleasure!!!

I admire you even more now Denise! You are a vouracious reader, how awesome. I have seen NG magazine, woodcraft, scuba.....your kids were blessed to have such a cool mom. I am sure it had a tremendous impact on their vocabulary to have these around
I am an avid reader, as is the entire family! We have always spent a lot of time selecting books that will mean something and magazines that are more than pretty pages. Of course, there is nothing wrong with pretty pages, but, there has to be something deeper, with more meaning... People think I am crazy when I speak of the impact of reading and having these things available for curiosity's sake.
It is fun when everyone scuba dives and likes traveling and tried their hand at flying and jumping... They are an active group and I think their curiosity was born out of reading and being encouraged to do things. Everyone rides horses, and cares for them as well, play piano and another instrument, without sounding like a bragging mom, I am proud of their many accomplishments. It has been fun for them, but, a lot of work.
And PS... Nat Geo and Scuba, along with Architectural Digest are among a few of my favorite magazines! Thank you for stopping by, your words are always a welcome addition to a post.
#MarketFriday loves you!
There are so many studies which show the benefits of reading, I think that it is a blessing to be able to have many reading sources as a kid. It helps the imagination. I remember reading fairy tales, it was so cool, it definetely helped my creativity
Hugs🤗
There was a time I had subscription to loads of magazines.
Not anymore.
Here is my post for the week!
https://ecency.com/hive-124452/@silversaver888/mexican-on-market-friday
Well, I didn't have them for a time, and then, homeschooling the kids, I did bring many of them back in. That time has passed, but, I still enjoy the glossy pictures and the articles in some. I get most from the internet, but, still love the magazines and I donate to the retirement villages or nursing homes when we are done.
And my elderly relatives love them for Christmas!
Thanks so much for stopping by and dropping your link! I just realized I don't think I commented on the Peace coin last night, I will have to go back later! What a beauty!

Maybe you mean 2021. Greetings from Indonesia
Thanks so much! I did mean 2021!! Everyone noticed that except for me! :)
I encourage myself to write in English. By writing like this maybe my English is getting better. Here is my entry for Market Friday:
https://ecency.com/hive-196308/@taufar/the-bike-store-market-friday
I think that that is a most excellent thing to do I found that when I was learning German it was so much easier when I was consistent in reading and writing it. I think your English is fine and I think you are doing an awesome job! Keep up the good work! If you ever need help with it, feel free to ask.
I want to thank you for stopping by and leaving your words and dropping your link on my post. Have a most wonderful day.

How's life goin men @theycallmedan! What's wrong with my comment on @dswigle post got downvoted by @theycallmedan and @brianoflondon? Let me know the reason?
https://hive.blog/hive-196308/@scribblingramma/green-bluff-in-the-autumn
Hi there! This is the first time I posted to this community, as far as I remember, and I hope I did it right.
On the topic of magazines: My uncle used to subscribe to National Wildlife for me every year for Christmas, probably for 30 years. I really enjoyed that magazine. Right now I only get Victoria magazine, because my sister gives it to me for Christmas. I like magazines, but I don't like the way they end up cluttering my house! So I read them in the waiting room at the clinic, or at the library.
Welcome, @scribblingramma !!! You know I love having you here! I am sure you did fine - and you even dropped the link! Bonus!! It makes it so much easier to find your post!
Magazines were special when I was growing up, and, when I got my own, it was so cool. I had eight brothers and sisters and things tended to be given to everyone, except my aunt... she was one of eight children and understood the need once in a while to get something meant just for you.
Anyway, I love Victoria magazine, I discovered it years back when we were in Phoenix for a year and my neighbor introduced me to it! So lacy and girly and it just reminds me of an era gone by. I wish I could take pictures like that! Oh! A winter project! :))
I have a coffee table and that is where they live. Okay I have one in the Lower leverl den/living room, whatever the heck they call these extra living spaces! This is where the magazines live. You can bring it to your bedroom but, it needs to find its way back and I donate them after one month to retirement villages or rest homes. Boom. New set in, old set out. We read fast enough. The thing is, we are all internet readers too. we just like information and *glossy pictures!)
Thank you again, I don't blame you. I hate clutter. OMG! So, if it ever got to that place, there would be NO more. :)
Thanks for posting in #MarketFriday!
I saved those National Wildlife magazines for years. Not sure why. I finally donated them to the local school, because of all the cool pictures inside. I have troubles parting with the Victoria magazines. My sister has every issue since they first were printed....now that's dedication! (And OCD maybe?)
Lol
No judgement here! I give them away ever mobth or two, otherwise I will have too many. The retirement homes live them. I satisfy myself knowing that if I need something with them I can get it online. I still like the magazines but I cannot keep everything and being that is available and it's appreciated where it goes, makes it easier. I do love that Victoria!

I thought that magazines were slowly starting to die out as a trade - the Internet would replace that. But I see that I'm wrong. Great idea to take magazines to the elderly, my dear !!!! I almost guessed the riddle !!!! I thought that the answer was in the mirror image of the letters at the beginning of the word and at the end. the flowers are gorgeous !!!
https://ecency.com/hive-196308/@tali72/women-s-store
They are and then again, some staple ones are growing. The internet replaced a lot of the news format magazines, but, the internet will never replace National Geographic, the beautiful magazine that invented glossy pictures. I was wrong too. I thought it was a dying thing, but, I think it will be around for a while. For the same reason people still like books, magazines offer something a little different, away from the constant, addictive screen of the internet. I worry about a world that lives inside that screen. People are less active again, with fewer friends and live interactions, so many are dependent on their internet friendships.
Yikes!
I like it here, but, I have my family and friends in real life. I wish that for everyone. Anyway, I got off tangent, but, magazines offer a peaceful reprieve and I actually used them a lot for homeschooling. @homeedders Quality magazines are a great place to reinforce grammar, Nat Geo touches on history with almost every article, encourages discussions, teaches skills and how-to's and all of my children still read them, although, as I said, we all use the internet, however, need something away from it also.
The Brain Teaser was a tricky one this week. :) Thank you! I do love flowers! Thank you for taking the time to say hello and drop the link!
#MarketFriday loves you!
I had magazines around for my girls, science and National Geographic, mostly. I think my eldest read most of them, but my youngest wasn't as interested. She's always been more the active kind. There came a time when neither would look at them, though. They read everything online now.
Well honestly mine read most things online I have learned to take time off from screen, which is where they indulge themselves with the different magazines from time to time. Pushed her Taste of change as they have and it is more scuba magazines and different equipment to go with it, photography magazines and government magazines discussing different politics. And where would we be in without architectural Digest? So I think that it's fair to say that more people read everything online as opposed to reading both ways. We are huge into Kindles although most everybody in this house likes a book between their hands but have fun with the the ease of the Kindle for most days. I hate to see magazines go when, but of course I will adapt whichever way.
you are absolutely right: reading books is more beneficial than reading anything on the internet as it involves other parts of the brain. just like writing by hand or typing on a computer. when a person writes by hand, it relieves stress and nervous tension. in Israel, psychologists even advised doing this during a period of particularly severe quarantines. and of course no online friendship can replace a real, warm relationship offline
I am glad to share my entry here on the beautiful challenge. The bowls are so pretty to share.

Hi, Sam! @mcsamm Thank you for taking the time to post in the #MarketFriday challenge this week! Always appreciated! Oh! Pineapples? Yummy! You know what? Some of my favorite fruits!
The dishes are only for Christmas. I use them from Thanksgiving, (It is the fourth Thursday in November) until New Year. Soon, it will be time to get them out! :)

https://hive.blog/hive-199420/@taliakerch/games-are-the-best-teachers-how-to-make-maths-and-reading-cool
I've written the post about using magazines as homeschooling way of studying. For now we buy many kids magazines where my son adore doing different tasks and train reading skills and counting;) I adore reading cool magazines too about history, different countries or great people and their lifestories.
How nice! I never saw it as it is not tagged in any way to connect it to #MarketFriday. I just took a click over on the tag. I didn't want you to think I copied! :) I think that is a funny thought. That is exactly what I used it for. The kids really need time away from the internet, I find it important to have their time balanced with sports, music and reading... and friends. Well, that is a tiny part of it, but, now I will be reading yours, but, they are all reposted and I will read most tomorrow.
Thank you for participating in #MarketFriday and dropping your link. :)

Haven't read a magazine for a hundred years. I remember we had a very popular magazine Liza in Ukraine. Very interesting. Now there is no trace of him (
Haha@ Well. if I hadn't homeschooled my kids, that would probably be the case with me, but, I am lucky I did!!! I used magazines for many different areas and didn't want the internet to be so prevalent in everything they did. They all are highly tech-savvy and needed the time away from that to become well-rounded.
Is this the one you are talking about?

Funny, I was just telling our youngest the story of how I got scammed (in a Zayre's parking lot, no less...lol) by a cute guy when I was around 17 years old. He was selling magazine subscriptions to help pay for college - remember when that was a thing? Long story short (too late), I never did get the magazines, but he cashed my check (which had my home address and phone number on it). And I knew better, but couldn't resist the allure of those glossy publications... (yeah, that's how I'm spinning it 🤣).
I got out of the print media habit back about a decade ago, when we downsized to move into a camper fulltime, and even after moving back into a "normal" house about a year later, I didn't feel the urge to pick it back up again. Though your beautiful photos are certainly tempting.
Oh, and here's my contribution this week (which started off as a contribution back in September 2019...lol!) -
https://peakd.com/hive-134671/@traciyork/a-flashback-friday-visit-to-mckinnons-market-for-marketfriday
Hope you have a great weekend ahead, and given the season, may you always have
brandytea to warm you when you're chilly. 😄Those were the days, weren't they? Even as late as 10 years ago they were still selling magazines and parking lots and going door-to-door. Can you believe that? Like that hasn't been done for the last seventy years? I can remember when I was a little kid college students coming to our door and wanting my parents to support them through college or Peace Corps or or or. There's always something. I'm pretty sure if he was not so cute it wouldn't have been a big issue and you'd still have that check. So funny you little hottie!!
You can spin it however you like, me and the cute dude know different.
I think people are misunderstanding me and this entire family is huge on everything online. I mean I was young but I can remember trash80 and I have one. I think they came from Radio Shack in quickly upgraded to 286. So I've been around computers all my life oh, but there's still something about those glossy pictures and the feel of a magazine. I like to look at the photography once in a magazine that I can bend the pages and take them with me. I still love looking through National Geographic and I love the the different scuba magazines that we have. I have lived in a trailer and guess what? I did that with the three kids and we spent a year homeschooling and Road tripping . We saw every state there was and we studied each one too. I pay so little for the magazine said it's worth it for me to indulge in it, and then after it's all done, we go donate them to retirement villages and rest homes. It's a win-win. Wait I'm getting an old contribution? Isn't that sort of like recycling except not? I mean it's sort of recycled because you were going to put it out but you didn't so I guess it's not. Okay we'll call it a draw. LOL I can hardly wait to see it. Will I recognize you? Oh my God, skip the tea and just throw that bottle of brandy over here. I won't tell a soul. I was just put it on the blockchain. Good night my friend, the post will be read tomorrow as I have the whole day off. Mazel Tov, yes?
Thank you so much for taking part in emerging Friday and for leaving your generous comment and yes I forgot to tell you I do know all about Zayre's. Did you forget I lived in New Hampshire? Anyway thank you so much and I appreciate you dropping your link and also for sending the traffic my way. Bless your heart! 💖
I love magazine but sport and fashion magazines are my favorite I no you love reading books, and it actually shows on your personality do gave a wonderful market Friday @dswigle
I do love reading books and magazines! It is the big, glossy pictures that draw me in! :)

I grew up with these magazines, they were my link with the civilized and modern world. These magazines were hard to get in communist Romania but they found ways to bring some of them and they were shared among friends. For this reason, I remained an admirer of the magazines. Of real magazines, made of good glossy paper, with beautiful photos. I prefer magazines to websites.
Denise, forgive me, I haven't replied to your comments for more than a week. I've read them all but can't find the time to reply. Thank you for telling me the name of the park in Blow-up, it is a great joy for me to know that.
A little while ago I posted for the market if you want to see it: The last, or rather, the most recent fair I went to!
My cousins in former Czechoslovakia used to get magazines from my family in a roundabout way, never straightforward. National Geographic, Life magazine, and something with current events.
I prefer magazines to websites. Besides, how much time can be spent on the internet? All-day? No communicating with others, sharing a picture? You can share internet pictures, but, there is something about breaking away from them and doing other things, seeing people, communicating in real life, not just a friend in the cyber world.
Don't worry about the comments, Dan! @bluemoon I wrote them for me (for you to read) not for you to feel guilty about adding another layer of words on it. Of all people, you don't think I know the lack of time a little bit? I am the Queen of running out of time on a daily basis. Oh! Went to the park when I was there, mostly to see where it was filmed. :) I am glad you were pleased with it!
I saw the market when it came in with those big leather, very traditional looking shoes! I think I voted it, but, know I reposted to read tomorrow. I usually vote them all in one day, but, there are so many, I split it so that there is more voting power for tomorrow. Then everyone gets a little more this way.
Thanks so much for the dedicated support to #MarketFriday! I appreciate the words and dropping the link! Even flowers!!!
#MarketFriday loves you!
Putting the link is a way of announcing that I posted. I noticed that you already saw the post, so the link was superfluous.
I take it your roots are in Czechoslovakia? Although there are not many affinities between Romanians and Czechs, the latter being more under German influence, I have always been an admirer of the Czechs. Because of the movies. The beautiful girls! A bit plump, white skin, brown skin, blue eyes... Well, youth!
You were in that park!!! That park still gives me a huge thrill, just thinking about it, I never imagined you were there. Especially since I thought Blow-up wasn't a movie in your area of interest.
Time? You said something very true here, and I think I write primarily for myself, so it doesn't matter if often no one reads it. All the more reason to be glad there is a similarity between us. It is a great pleasure to know that, that someone is similar to me, someone who has a different life, a different culture than me. That we can appreciate each other, even if we have never seen each other and probably never will, but that we sometimes think sympathetically of each other. Thank you!
PS A, see what rewards you get every day for your blogs. Splendid! If anyone deserves it, it's definitely you!
I am really glad that you did put your link because the people that are new haven't gotten into the habit of it so I have to go search. One didn't tag it in any way but she told me she posted for me. Incidentally, it's not even a #MarketFriday post. LOL
My roots on my mother's side are strictly French and one of my grandmother's sisters married a Czechoslovakian man and moved to Bratislava. Because it's two Generations from me I'm not sure why they moved to Czechoslovakia as opposed to staying in France. I have to admit when I went to Bratislava, it was a pretty little town, but nobody can honestly understand love, I didn't try. They were very much related to us and their family, and when they escaped the country in the middle of the night, my grandmother took them in, and less than three months later they were deported back. I don't remember that time but I can only go by stories. They were always our cousins because they were related to us and my cousin escaped in the late seventies and went to Canada from Australia and again ended up in our vicinity canvas deported just like his father before him. He was able to do this twice but his whole family is punished in ways of having things taken away from them including a house and given another one in the country. I'm sure you know the mechanics of that kind of punishment better than I do. Letters are scarce and phone calls are even more so. I remember that I was there for the Velvet Divorce. Prague in the morning with all the rioting and went to Bratislava in the afternoon to complete the changeover. I was trying to think hard of the dates in the late 70's early 80's that he left Bratislava, but, at the time, dates, but at the time, so much was going on in the world
The movie, I had gone to see with three of my brothers. It is not something I probably would have chosen myself but sometimes it's just fun to go because of the company. I sent them a postcard from there to tease them. :)
I agree that you have to write for yourself first because otherwise, you would be second-guessing exactly what everybody else would like to hear instead of putting down your thoughts exactly as they come out. I can remember when you were getting very good payouts and thinking how cool that was, but from my own experience, it comes and it goes, so I enjoy it if it happens. I know you know what I mean. Thanks so much for being such a good friend and don't worry so much about what's you miss or if you don't have time to answer. I used to stress myself out about it and have come to realize that I can only do what is humanly possible for me. My friends will understand. You have always been forgiven of my shortcomings when I can I answer everything or I answer so late. I would say we are good! Stop being so hard on yourself. And don't forget, have a most amazing day!
#MarketFriday loves you!
@dswigle, Read your writing is very good and and inspiration to all,and see several magazines ranging from diving titles, spice (pilot) and others. I also like magazine about pilot and aviation and under water beauty magazine(diving) surely everyone likes beauty and every beauty will be comfortable, thanks you for being able to give positive comments, thank you, greetings.
The family all dives and a few flies and part of the inspiration to do these things came from those big, glossy magazines! :) Anything is possible when you are growing up and it is up to you as a parent to present the opportunity to make some of these things possible.
Sometimes something comes of it, sometimes not. You make good points! Thanks so much and I hope you have a wonderful night!

I well remember the old National Geographics when I was a kid, but I am surprised that there is still much interest in them. I really thought they were falling victim to the digital age much like brick and mortar stores largely fell victim to Amazon. I could not even begin to remember the last time I bought a magazine.
Oh well here is my stretch to get a Market Friday post in.

Are you kidding? Everyone still loves Nat Geo! I get a magazine day every week here. I still love them and you know I love surfing the web just as well.
There is something about getting off these machines and living in the carbon world for a little bit. People have fallen victim to being so dependent on the internet. Kids nowadays move from the bedroom, where they are sitting on their computers to down to watch movies, to back upstairs watching surfing the internet.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving your words and dropping your link! Much appreciated!

LADYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
hehehehe
here is my post! LOLOL cuz i'm a dingbat - hahaha (also - i didn't see the tag in the post - and I WILL add it in - i think i did tag you but I'm not sure if I used #marketfriday - so i will add that right away too! don't you worry - i'm so good for next week now! LOL)
ok first off - we are a homeschool family too - i think you and i talked about this before hehehe but we NEVER used magazines!!! hmmm and I'm wondering why we never did - this would have been a great addition to our curriculum!!!
but I myself did get some cooking magazines for a while and I loved them!!!! There is something about seeing it in the book that just makes you want to try it -right???
We got the um... Cooks Illustrated - and then we also got... America's Test Kitchen i think??? i think that was the name! We might have gotten Food and Wine for a bit too!
but i always loved drooling over those pics hehehehe
I don't think I'd do it on Amazon though - there is something about holding the book that I love. those glossy pages feel so nice too heheheheh
Thanks for being patient with me on my first market friday! heheheh I really hope I can get out to take some pics for next week too hehehehe
love you lady!!!
Haha! Good on you! The first link I gave you was NOT Amazon. It was a cheap site that I have used for years. I got Cooks for a steal and I am not sure where we got America's Test Kitchen, but, it might have been them. The link for Amazon was for magazines, not the book site.
The magazines were a great addition to the curriculum, for sure and I am surprised some people are adamantly against them, they read on the internet, boom. That is it.
You did really great on your first #MarketFriday! I still have people that have been here for years that don't drop a link. I will bet about 20 people haven't dropped their links yet. :) It just makes it so much easier, you know what I mean!? It is going to get cool (read cold tonight!) I hope nothing freezes outside! Do me a favor? Hmmm? I am in my jammies, it is almost 2 am.... could you run outside and bring in my spider plants, basil, parsley, geraniums... Oh, just what is on the porch Whatever is in the ground is staying there. Chop! Chop! It is going to get cold tonight! Too far?
Le sigh.
It is always something, yes? :)) Hey you! Have a great night and I am off to post and Sweet Jesus, I am trying to get a little sleep tonight!
Good night! Love to you!

Yes! There is just something about having it IN YOUR HANDS! We no longer buy or subscribe to magazines (here in SA they have just become way too expensive) but my favourite was also the cooking and then a local travel/wild life/cooking magazine. Reading opens worlds to children that a screen never could do. IMO. What a selection you have Denise. Is Scuba a wild life magazine?
