Dogwoods, Electic Tales and Me
The sound so far away
The distance measured in forever
Can my mind be playing games?
Yet
I close my eyes, and my soul smiles
Tossing out the truth for a while
~Ellen Baily
Flowers. There must always be flowers to color my world.
I realize
Just what you mean
To me
And now
Now that you're near
Promise your love
That I've waited to share
And dreams
Of our moments together
Color my world with hope of loving you
by Chicago
That you would be
Just the thing I needed
I needed for me
You appeared in my life
without invitation, leaving your petals behind
The gift of peace.
The gift of happiness.
May all these be yours today
Ccontinuing to radiate in your lives,
Long after the day is done.
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
There will be always flowers to color your world sweet @dswigle !!!
From your lips to God's ears! May there always be if I were to color your world as well! I hope that you have a most wonderful day ahead!
I luv ya!

Oh you always have a way with beauty, both photos and words. Always good to see your smiling face, Sunshine!
Good morning from here! It's hard not to show off a little bit of the pretty, especially when it's surrounding you. This is the most incredible, the year and so far the journey has been delightful. I was losing faith there when we had three freezing days in the middle of nowhere but it has since redeemed itself and everywhere is beautiful. I hope you're having a wonderful day and that you're getting lots of packing done.
Nope no packing. Played a lot in the Elon pool then school.
Well we have 23F tomorrow night so Spring is still a bit off it seems.

Even if it can't be literally true since you said dogwoods didn't grow in the Middle East back then, it is still a beautiful fable.

I agree and I probably didn't write it the way it should be because it was supposed to be evident that it was a legend or story and was failed with the facts. Thanks for stopping and leaving your words. Have a great day!

Such a sad legend. This is the first time I hear about "dogwood". I did not know what to expect when I read the title.
No matter if this legend is (either partially or completely) true or false, the crucifixion is one of the darkest "inventions" of the humanity/mankind, and one of the saddest/darkest and one of the most cruel parts of the history of the humanity/mankind.
They always needed. Especially after such a sad legend. One very positive side of this legend is the message that Jesus (and God) is merciful.
But the question is always there. Where all the cruelty in the world came from? It cannot be originated only from humans. There must be something (or someone) else. Probably what people call "Satan" and "Hell". But I do not know. Only God and Jesus, and the people, who returned to (or simply live with) them know the answer to this question.
I believe we all came to this physical world by our own free will to test and experience it. All of us will return home (to Heaven) over a certain time spent on Earth.
Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.
I always wonder where Legends come from. Are they part Story Part truth? I will probably never know however I to do that dogwoods did not exist in the Middle East so that gives Credence to it being a story. I also enjoy the stories made up to bring out a truth it is a beautiful spring day here in the Washington DC area oh, I hope that it's just as beautiful in your country! Enjoy your day!
That's a really interesting legend about the Dogwood tree. I've never heard that before. It's a neat story.
Nice photos of the spring flowers 😊
Actually, it's an old Catholic a story that is exactly that. It's a story. But I thought it was a little bit interesting and wondered how they came up with this as dogwoods don't even exist in the Middle East. I guess it's things that Legends are made of. Thank you for stopping by and leaving your words and I hope that you are having a most wonderful day.
Nice shots! We have some trees outside my office that should start flowering pretty soon. It is nice to see them when they are in bloom, but the smell is horrible. I am not looking forward to that!
It's funny that some of the prettiest ones have the most terrible smell. Also if you have allergies noneof it smells good! Just take a few good pictures and a little bit of Benadryl. The pretty will be over before you know it!
I can't grow regular dogwood here, but I have kept a Kousa dogwood alive for several years, even through construction. Loved the tulips!
Now I'm going to have to go look that will not because I'm not familiar with the name although I may be by sight. I'm off to a tulip farm today and I can hardly wait to get there! Thank you so much for stopping by and hand I hope you have a most wonderful day!
Loved the poem you introduced at the very start of your post. What a beautiful way to start the post. Unknowingly, the short poem makes me blush.
