Easter coincides with Spring, one of the most beautiful seasons, full of hope and thoughts of renewal. It is at this time that we want to share these thoughts with friends and family. Happy Easter to you! Share the love. ❤️

Today is a #BeautifulSunday by @Ace108, where we share our day in the most possibly beautiful way that we can. How can one refute the beauty of spending time with my family, especially as this is Easter Sunday? I am having the best of days, a definite #SublimeSunday in the making, by the Meister of my morning, @c0ff33a. I do love my @c0ff33 and he likes eclectic! A definite match, made in heaven. I want to thank @ace108 and @c0ff33a for hosting these fun challenges! Check them out!

Painting eggs happened. We only did a dozen but that was enough for us. We glittered and tie-dyed. They keep coming out with new ones!

Last year, I baked Italian Easter bread, but somebody ate some of it before I could get a picture. Whenever something is consumed before its time, they try to compliment their way out of it... But, it was incredibly delicious and the dough is light. I will make the frosting again this year. It is a real keeper. This is pretty close to what it actually looks like. I will make it in a little while so that it is fresh! My Grandma Cundari would be so proud of me for keeping up the family tradition. She is the one that taught me how to do it when I was so very young, I needed a chair to stand on, just so I could stir the dough. It sounds weird, but, some days, I am faintly aware of her scent, whether imagined or not, it is like a warm hug on a cold day. My heart blossoms under those thoughts. Some days, I miss her so much, that it hurts. I loved her heart. It was beautiful. ❤️

This is a vintage postcard I bought years ago. I framed it and got a small easel for it, and put it out on a small table near my couch around Easter. Last year, I liked it so much, I just left it - all year round. I have really come to love old postcards, especially when they are written to someone. The messages are so endearing. People really took the time to communicate with each other.❤️

I can still visualize the teenager in me taking rubber bands and twisting, tying, folding, and pleating fabric - getting it ready to take a bath in dye. RIT was a brand that everyone used and it made the most delightful patterns in T-shirts or any other fabric. I think that is why these eggs appeal to me. What kind of eggs did you color this year? Post one in the comment section and the egg I find most appealing, will be sent a prize. Easy! Right?

All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.

It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.

Wishing you a Happy Easter that fills your soul with a renewal of life, inspiring new hope, happiness, prosperity and abundance, all received through God’s divine grace. He has Risen! Love to you, Denise.

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Robert Frost

OOOooooooOOOOooooo... that bread with the egg is so beautiful.

Keep the camera/phone in your pocket so you can snap some of the new ones before the critters get into them again.... LOL

The Easter Bread is gone, gone, gone... But, it was good! That is because it is a sweet bread and the braids came out well this year. If you can't do your hair, you are in trouble!

I love that the Italian Easter Bread has a purpose in life. :)) It is symbolic in the shape of the bread. The bread is braided and usually made into a circle to symbolize the crown Jesus wore on the cross. There is also the fact that the bread is braided with three pieces that symbolize the Holy Trinity. (Father, Son and Holy Ghost)

Right now, in the middle of making vertical carrot cake. :) For dessert later, much later. It is only 6 pm....

I do love the Easter Bread and we sometimes will make another version of it, but, without the colored eggs in it. I like it at Easter as it is one of those silly traditions we have.

Italian Easter bread
This looks really yummy! I hope the ones you make later today taste and look as good as those in the picture. Is that bread savory or sweet ?

I like how those eggs look . They look like psychodelic eggs to me 😂untitled.gif

They are tie-dyed! I love them and yes, a little psychedelic! :)) The Easter Bread is the sweet type, although, I am a huge fan of the savory type of bread.

Last year, I baked Italian Easter bread, but somebody ate some of it before I could get a picture.

How I love this, I think it's the truest compliment you can get...
Your Italian Easter bread Looks so good, I'm seeing this bread with the colored egg incorporated for the first time, it's perfect for Easter.

The vintage postcard also brings back memories of my childhood and teenage years when it was the only way to show love to those who lived far away. This vintage postcard you show us I love and it reminds me of my collection from long ago. Unfortunately, I lost it in a fire along with most of my old family photos.

The colored eggs are a bit psychedelic, as were my shirts in my youth when I used to dye them myself (I couldn't buy them). As you know, you are one step ( week) ahead of me, I am going to color the eggs on Saturday and I am looking forward to it.

Surely today you are together with all your beautiful family and spending one of the most beautiful days of the year, I wish you all a Happy Easter!

It has definitely been a family day - a family weekend, from Good Friday to Easter Monday. not even time to do much with #MarketFriday, but, I tried to upvote and repost. Comments Monday night maybe? How terrible of me!

I love everything about the Easter Bread! (Father, Son, and Holy Ghost) That of course is the Catholic in me. :) (actually my mother)

I tie-dyed shirts too! Some of us girls did a few different pieces. Tie-dye has never gone out of style! My kids do it. I tell them they are thieves of the 60's and 70's! They love a lot of the retro clothing that not even I was around for! LOL I am so sorry about the fire that took so many memories away from you. We are one week ahead of you and I look forward to seeing your eggs. I love painting them and never miss a year. :)

I had my Easter Bread and thought of my Grandma Cundari today. God rest her beautiful soul. ❤️ Thank you for the wonderful wishes, Dan! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

It's a family celebration, of course. The same will happen in our house.

And in Orthodoxy, there is special Easter bread, but it is not as beautiful and symbolic as the one you have shown.

The 60's and 70's were interesting years, weren't they? Especially since they were our teenage years.
A bright spot of my adolescence was the American Library in Bucharest! It was an island of light, beauty, and information in a dark, dirty city where everything was censored, much like it is now in Russia. I used to go to the library every week, even though I knew it was not good and that I was being watched by the Securitate (the repressive police of the communists)... Fortunately, I was fine, but if society developed into more repressive communism, it was enough to put me in prison.
At the library I saw books about T-shirt dyeing methods, that was my inspiration.

The eggs are dyed with onion skins, it´s the traditional way of coloring them :) Yeah, got to spend some nice family time here. I hope you did too :)

My grandparents did the onion skins! The older generation used all natural things to make the colors. They are gorgeous!

I did have a wonderful family day. I am glad that you did too.

Awesome :) Yeah, we use the onion skins. To get those leafy silhouettes, you spread actual leaves around the eggs and put the eggs into a stocking so that the leaves stay in the desired position. Then you just boil it for some 10 minutes and there you go :)

Yes that is the bittersweet part about the holidays. My daughter was asking why we have no one out. Well the sad fact is we used to have a houseful when she was a little girl, but they have all passed now. That is what 20 years will do I guess.
