Freedom to do as you please.
So I just finished seeing this movie and I think it's awesome...
It's in the comedy section of movies released in 2021.
The story is about Guy starred by Ryan Reynolds who is a Non Player Character in a worldwide video game, launched by Soonami studios.
NPCs are all programmed to act in a certain way according to their programming.
But in this game, the original creators Millie and Keys had made it possible for the characters in the game to grow and evolve and subsequently change their code to do anything they wanted to...
It's when an AI is self aware.
That's a lot to handle for me... Imagining that the codes that run my applications get to the point of self awareness... It's creepy mehn.
Anyways, guy gets to this level of self awareness and well, things become awkward in the whole game.
Meanwhile, the director of Soonami studios Atwan had stolen the code for the game from Keys and Millie and refused to give them the rights and privileges.
Millie was obsessed with finding proof that Atwan had stolen their code and the only way to find the proof was to play in the game.
It was fun watching the whole evolution all through the movie.
One major lesson I learnt is, some people in life are like NPCs, there aren't really NPCs but that's how their life feels...
Just going through the routine everyday, same old drill, day in day out.
They fail to realize that they can come to self awareness and see that they can be much more than what they are...
That their lives are not a bunch of zeros and ones... That their lives can count for something.
That they are not stuck in a loop, in a cycle of trying to do what others want them to do.
Although Free guy is a movie, it pushes this one lesson to everyone... We need to learn to take charge of our own life and not let anyone or anything run it for us... We need to take responsibility.
You should definitely see the movie...
