What's going on everybody, with the modern getting ever closer I wanted to give you all my opinions on the best CL cards that have been released so far. Now, these are just my opinions and I do not speak for anyone else when I talk about these cards in specific. I also play in the silver league so we will be discussing cards that work best in silver.

Fire

First card I'd like to talk about in fire is the antoid platoon. A great 4 cost tank that can do well in the equalizer, melee mayhem, and super sneak rulesets this card is a bit slow but makes up for it with his shield ability to go along with a decent range of stats. You are mainly gonna be running him alongside Tarsa for the +1 to health and melee which makes him hit pretty hard as well as getting a bit more health to keep him alive. Magic can ruin these ants like a good ole can of raid so I wouldn't run him if your opponent has been running magic. But like I was saying playing him in those melee rulesets he can be a great addition to your fire teams.

Next up is none other than the Tenyii Striker another card that pairs amazing with Tarsa and Yodin. Getting Sneak and dodge which he picks up at level 4 this guy is sure to add value to your team. The dodge can be random and it really sucks when you lose because he got hit 3 times in a row without dodging. However, this guy can output a good amount of damage and has a good health pool to survive as well. In Yodin comps you can run him alongside the supply runner to give him a little boost in speed making him a bit better. I still think he pairs with Tarsa better giving him the +1 to melee and HP and just like the antoid platoon he thrives in melee only rulesets.

I almost forgot about this one.....😂 But how could you ever forget about this guy. One of the premier epics in chaos legion you will see this monster roaming the lands of praetoria looking for folks who have forgotten about him and dispatching them with ruthless force. He excels in many things from thriving in the noxious fumes ruleset to retaliating with any that dares strike him. Again another card that just pairs so well with the fire summoners from Tarsa and Yodin he is a monster. The one thing that holds him back but is not too much of a big deal is his speed...He may take some time to swing that gigantic sword but when he does it hits with force and when rocking with the fire fox Yodin his retaliate triggers the blast ability so he can decimate the enemy team. This is a card I would make sure you have in your fire lineups and hopefully at level 3 which requires 10 copies but is well worth it for all the value he adds.

Water

Let's take a look at this big bad ugly dude...Like for real is that a tongue coming out of his nose I don't know he is horrifying though. But along with being horrifying to look at he is also horrifying to face in battle rocking a 4 melee and 4 speed to go along with his high HP and the opportunity ability this guy has it all. Then you pair with Kelya and he gets even faster and gains a little piece of armour he is a force to be reckoned with. He is one of the staples of the monster trio and destroys the enemy squishies. Whenever I'm running water melee this guy is always in my lineups unless it is very low mana or back to basics but other than that this fish always makes an appearance on my teams.

Moving on to the Wave Brood and amazing 8 cost tank with taunt that also has close range. This guy can be so annoying to deal with and I have loved running him with double triage in the back. He is only has 1 speed which isn't too much of an issue because your not using this guy as a damage dealer. He is meant to be a tank and a tank you should build around so pair him with some healers if you intend to running him in your first slot, or throw him in the back with a double triage and watch him out last the enemy team. Also in the reverse speed ruleset he becomes even better with the lack of speed he has and having access to close range makes this guy such an amazing all rounder to put in your water comps. If I have high enough mana I can run the monster trio and still have enough room for this guy in the back to draw all the aggro while my other monsters clean shop.

Last up for water is our whale buddy Baakjira. Coming in at a 6 cost tank with void slow and strengthen this friendly whale does no damage but is sure to be an absolute juggernaut as your primary tank. Pair him with a heal and a silence/demoralize and it will be tough to cut through this whales thick skin. I like to run him with a magic setup using Kelya as the summoner and then slotting in Djinn Oshannus, Nerissa and River Nymph and some other complementary units. Most of the time the enemy team struggles to get through baakjira and even if they do the speed demon oshannus awaits them after. High speed ranged can get a bit of an issue for our boy here but most of the time you will be able to burn through them before they can get to you.

Earth

The beautiful and busted Queen Mycelia...This woman is not only my favourite CL card but also one of my favourite cards in the game to date. The value she adds is unrivalled IMO starting out by giving everybody 2 armour for earth is just incredible then getting the amplify ability at level 2. Honestly what more could you want from an earth card that has access to Mylor along with some amazing tanks like Unicorn Mustang, Kron The Undying there is so many options when it comes to earth. You can also run her with Obsidian and go with a full magic team that excels in reverse speed as most of the earth magic is very slow cards. Overall she just does so much for so little and is a dominant card in chaos legion.

Now we get to this outrageous lizardman Grund and his two massive hammers that destroy enemy front line tanks. Getting double strike and then going to a whopping 4 damage at level 3 means this chaos legion epic will be hitting for 8 damage a turn which is just filthy. Crowned as the new Kron killer you can do so much with Grund as your front line tank whether you opt to last stand him or run him alongside the insane Kitty comp with him and his long lost brother Carnage Titan you can decimate the enemy teams. Now, if you play him in rulesets like super sneak or equal opportunity or blast ruleset this dude shines even more. Great in all leagues from bronze all the way up to champ this is a card you must not sleep on. The amount of times this guy has clutched up for me is endless and is one of my favourite cards in chaos legion.

Finishing off our earth set we will go with the Mycelic Slipspawn. Another card absolutely vital to CL earth this nasty rare card can be another thorn in your side. Forcefield in silver is not utilized as much as it is in higher leagues so that ability is kind of hit and miss mind you if you face a sandworm it is very clutch to see it get completely nerfed by this monster alone. The other ability though taunt is amazing...taunt is always one of those abilities that will be useful and when you have it on a high HP monster like slipspawn you can accomplish some pretty good things. Kinda of like the wave brood but better in my opinion you can either front or backline this tank and watch it draw all the aggro while sitting back and relaxing. This is one I like to frontline more than backline and then rock triple heals to make this card almost unkillable. Now earth magic has its drawbacks with being slow but for the most part you can have overwhelming damage paired with obsidian as well as some beefy tanks to outlast the enemies speed.
