A matter of empathy and education - QOTW 10.7

I think I will never witness these kinds of environmental movements, in the country where I live, there is not enough awareness to think about the environment, I am not saying that they are not done, I just know that I have not witnessed the first one, I have seen campaigns to raise awareness in my city, groups come together to clean squares, parks and others, until recently I ran into a group at a traffic light that gave me bags to use in the car and not throw garbage in the streets.
I think that if they decided to make these movements here, they would not be well seen, people who live here, we only think of our own interests and the simple fact of running into a queue is reason enough to get angry, no matter what the reason for the situation; however, from my point of view, I think we are responsible as individuals for global warming, indirectly, maybe I ask people in my community and they would say they have nothing to do with this happening, but they have no idea of the carbon footprint that we as individuals leave each year.
Taking into account all the things I see every day in the communities I go to, I would say that these environmental movements would not happen here, for my part I think that many times it is necessary to take action on the things that harm us, that harm our planet, and I try to make my own contribution, For example I have more than a year that I do not receive bags in the places where I buy, because I think that if I am in the car, I do not need them, in recent months I have tried to recycle organic waste in my house, I use them to fertilize the soil of my plants, I also separate the plastic and accumulate it, these almost always give them to people who collect them to sell them.
The government of my country has always turned a blind eye to these issues, they have even encouraged deforestation and have ended up with large amounts of land, in order to exploit them for their own profit, apparently the mineral resources of the Orinoco belt are more valuable than our ecosystem, And the worst of all is that all this exploitation has not benefited the population at all, we have more than 5 years with continuous power outages, lack of water supply, and a decadent health system, shows that the interests of a few outweigh those of an entire country.
We all have to be part of the solution and not part of the problem, so in order for us to improve as a society, I am talking about my country, we must first create awareness of the damage we cause and how we can avoid or at least reduce it, a difficult job, I think, but if I run into any movement of this I would join without hesitation, Of course I do not think that closing a public road will help anything, stopping a supply chain or simply preventing people from going to their daily work may worsen the situation, of course if they are done in a way that alerts the population, perhaps each person will take precautions and even if they do not contribute anything, they will not hinder the work of others.
