I Made Layla Again|| Crochet Ruffle Hat
#needlework
Hello my fellow needleworkers, happy Sunday šI hope you all are doing well and Iām sure you had a good day today.
Firstly I want to scream that LAYLA IS ABOUT TO BE OUR BEST SELLER!!!!!!!
Iāve gotten that out of my chest šš I honestly didnāt expect it to get this attention. If you read my previous posts youāll know that Layla was a random design I made for an event my brand was supposed to go and sell at.
I got back from that event and Iāve sold a few Layla designs, some customized by clients, some is the original design.
Iām just really happy that something I made has gotten this attention. As a creative person, I donāt think there is any joy that is greater than this.
Layla has gotten more attention than other designs Iāve made. A lot have asked about it. Booked it. Itās just really amazing and I was really stunned.
This order came from the woman that ordered the bra top. She stopped by the shop once and saw the other color mix of Layla and said she loved the design but would love a different color mix for hers since sheās not really a yellow and orange person.
Told her itās possible to make hers and she got excited. We talked about pricing and everything she said she couldnāt wait to get hers.
We got to making it and yes I did tear up a couple of times. The red is as bright as it looks and my eyes are not really used to brightness so itās normal for me to tear up or get sleepy when working on these colors.
One part that made me sweat a little was the ruffles. I made it with a 4.0mm hook and I made a ton of increases because I wanted it to look packed and a bit full. Made increases and for those that make ruffles you know what Iām saying when I tell you it felt like forever whenever I made any row.
The last row or second to the last is the one that I was dreading the most. All I told myself was āIām almost done, just a few stitchesā when I finished I took a really deep breath because at that point I had been sitting for long hours.
As usual I had to hide and cut the excess yarn and it was a lot. I hid it in between stitches. Cut and burnt it where the burning was necessary because Iām not really a fan of burning yarn. When I finished had to take a few pictures becauseā¦ damn it looked really good.
When she came in not joking when I say thatās what she wore as she was going out. It looked really good on her skin and I was really happy I got to make it and put a smile on her face.
These are the supplies I used to make this hat:
*measurement tape
*Darning needle
*4 balls of 40g acrylic yarn
*scissors
*4.0mm for the squares and a few rows of the ruffles.
*5.0mm for the last row of ruffles.
Ps: the pictures used here belong to me and were taken with my mobile phone.
