Fame and Fury || Review || Nollywood
I know its us un usual to see mw post a review about a nollywood movie but trust me they deserve their flowers for this one. To an extent I was thinking I was going to predict tge ending or something but trust me that wasn't the case.
First thing I loved about this movie is that to an extent I could relate to it. The troubles of having your own dreams but then your partner doesn't see it as much and would always downplay your emotions or ideas whenever they got the chance to. This movie was definitely made for the female audience that have also had to go through this at some point in their lives.
The Summary
This movie is about a young woman that has worked so hard to get roles in movies as an actress (I know very ironic a movie about an actress) Anyways she “Daberechi” was in a relationship with her then boyfriend “Deolu” who is from a wealthy family and he himself is very wealthy. He didn't see her active career as anything and always wanted to force her to quit even when she was good at it and she loved doing it [as a typical rich man he probably thought she would just say yes since he had the “money is everything mindset] but she didn't yield
Fast forward to when she went to visit his mom and she too downplayed her talent as trash emphasizing that since her son has chosen her to be his soul mate she too has to fit the standard and that involved quitting the child's play she does know TV. At some point Daberechi had enough and quit her relationship with the rich oil mogul Deolu.
Went on with her career then after a while met Paul. Sweet guy that paid so much attention to her and supported her every step of the way. He was definitely an upgrade emotionally from her previous relationship, or so we thought. It took him no time to settle in and put his own tyranny into play.
Made her give him money, he was an actor too so he'll ask her not to take roles in movies if they wouldn't pick him as well she agreed I dunno if it was in a bid to stay humble or she just didn't want to lose him honestly don't know. But he in turn was sabotaging her to producers and brands she was brand ambassador for at the slightest chance he got. And she got to find out something about him. An eye opener if I might add. At that point things took a huge turn in their relationship
