Crochet Ruffle Hat || For Myself.

I had a really fun week last week and I decided to make this pretty hat for myself and I love it so cheers to a new baby for my hat collection.

It's getting really cold over here and I have a really low tolerance for cold so I started asking myself why do you not own some winter crochet pieces?

Honestly I was freezing and I easily felt cold on my head and my ears so not having something simple that can easily help me out was quite shocking and the logical solution was to make something best suited for the weather and my needs as well.

I decided to make a ruffle hat and the next issue was colors. I didn't have much scrap yarn at home so I was not presented with many options.

I wanted it to have two colors though a dark one and a light one. I had dark green, brown and cream colors so I went for gardients instead.

Next thing was a little but very silly problem. I have actually never made a hat using double crochet stitches so I spent most of the time silently debating with myself.

Do I use what I'm most conversant with or should I just try something new?, and as you would guess it i id win the argument 😅😅 and i tried something new.

Thing is I only use double crochet stitches for ruffles since it's longer and more spacious and I use half double crochet stitches for the body since it's more close spaced.

Anyways when I started the base of the hat the double crochet stitches looked pretty good so I was quite proud of my decision.

I was not so sure of where I would be adding the cream lines so I was basically going with the flow till I felt it was time to let it do its thing to the design. Two lines seemed enough to me so I went back to the dark shadke and did a whole lot of lines.

I didn't want the design to look like it was for a sports bar and so i made another set of cream lins then i ended with that and went on to my ruffles

I did not want huge ruffles even if I love that design.

I wanted an everyday hat so very scanty ruffles were the look for me at this point in time so I started the row with the ruffles using two double crochet stitches in one therefore making an increase .

I didn't want too much so that was all i did and for the other rows i was just making it long enough to cover my ears since that was one of the reasons i made it too a while but i finally got finished with this and honestly my ears feel so much better right now so yeppieee
