Crochet Mesh Bra Top || My First

#needlework
Hello my fellow needle workers, how has your week been? I hope it’s going more smoothly than ever. I started my week well and today I want to share this mesh bra top with you all.

So I’ll be very honest with everyone here (lol) most of the jobs I get I have never made the pattern before, some I just know the pattern but I’ve never tried it out then some I experiment on a job and no there has never been a bad outcome from any.

This bra top falls under the “I have never made it before or known the pattern, I just looked at it and figured it out it” yes it sounds strange but it happens to me a lot. I rarely just sit and make things so I trained myself to understand patterns when I look at them (this doesn’t work on every pattern).

For this particular top I have never seen the pattern before but when the client sent it I just did a quick zoom and stared for a while then I got to work.

I was very skeptical. I was literally thinking I may not be able to interpret this particular one or something somewhere will just make me do it wrong (this is me being serious, not all the jobs I get make me happy all through, as a fiber artist there is always the “what if I get the pattern wrong” mindset).

After I made a few rows of the first I started understanding the pattern and funny enough I made the exact thing.

When I made the first one my trainees and my assistant said “ahhh ma!!!, you just said you’ve never done it before so how is it coming out exactly like the picture” all I did was laugh because they didn’t understand what was in my head for the hours I sat there quietly.

I went on to do the second piece and I had to be very careful since I was duplicating be ti didn’t want one side smaller or brighter than the other part.

After making the cups the next fun part was making these ropes (I literally just forgot what they are called, hahahahaha) the way my students paid attention was really nice to watch. I finished it fast because I was literally enjoying this part.

I went on to make chains for the straps and that took a little while since I made the yarn thick so it doesn’t hurt the person wearing it (fun fact :making thin ropes for bra handles actually makes it easier for that part to hurt the person wearing it. But if it’s thicker the risk of pain is reduced)

Things i used
*3.0 mm hook for the cups
*5.0mm hook for the straps
*2 balls of yarn for the cups
*1 ball of yarn for the dangling ropes
*darning needle to put the straps through the bra cups
*scissors
*stitch marker

Ps: the pictures used here belong to me and were taken with my mobile phone.

I can understand your trainees
Even me I don’t understand how you were able to do something you’ve never done so well.
This is really pretty

Hahaha omor. I try my best. I don’t have anyone to show it to so I have to always be on my feet.

It is a good exercise for when you don't have work, to see designs and interpret how to do it and if you can make the replica, in sewing you do that, part of my work in one of the subjects was to see a drawing and make the same garment from that. I love how it turned out in the end, it looks very nice :3

I think you did it a great job with this pattern even though you had never done something like this. Congrats 🤗
