Passion - Do I have one? Ladies of Hive Community Contest #51
What is your number one passion, the thing you do that
makes you feel the most happy, peaceful, or satisfied?
This question really makes me thinking about passion. Do I have one? To be honest, I don't know if I have the number one passion. There are things that I know I enjoy doing but I am not sure if they are my passions yet. I am still on my way to learn and understand myself so I think it would be best to share with you what I love to do in my Worlds. Oh you read it right, it's Worlds in plural because I have two: my inner world and outer world.
Thing that I want to do in My Inner World
Let me tell you about my love for dried flowers. I started doing it not so long ago. I love to go to walking tracks near home so I can enjoy the beauty of wildflowers. Small flowers like Daisies are growing everywhere in my city. I can spend hours just to admire them on the grass fields.
It was at the end of autumn this year when I started feeling sad as the winter would come soon and I was not able to go out side often to see my pretty flowers. One day, while watching YouTube videos, a tutorial video about dried flowers caught my attention. That was the moment I thought: why not dry the beautiful wildflowers and use them to decorate photo frames so I can look at them during my dull grey winter days.
I start enjoy this hobby very much when I know I can decorate postcards and photo frames with dried flowers. This way, I can make presents for people I love.
When I spend time with dried flowers, I feel like I am in a different world where I am the creator and my flowers are helping me to build it. I always put my love and thinking in the presents for my loved ones, I thought about our best moments when we laughed and had fun together. And just like this, It fills me with joy and energy.
I used to have difficulty to control my chatter thought. In fact, I find difficult to just relax and not worrying about things as I don't know what relax means. And thanks to this hobby, I learn to live in the present and just being with myself without thinking or worrying about other things in life. Now I know fully relax is being with myself, calm my chatter thoughts and be creative in my own world.
My new interest in the Outer World
It's Hiving. I guess joining Hive is the next step in my life journey to understand about myself and learn my lessons. I used to think that I am good at being with myself and I enjoy it. That's enough to live my happy life. There was no need to communicate or spend too much of my time with the outside world.
I feel lazy to meet new people and even just share my things online because I don't have the need to share it (also privacy security is another thing I am concerned). Until I realise something is not right. Human is different with other species by the ability to share and pass on the knowledge. Sharing about my life is not something that I should be afraid of, it is the way to express myself and help others to understand me.
In addition, I do believe in a balancing lifestyle, I am exploring my inner world and I am excited about it, but how about the outer world? I should explore it as well. Too much of one side is not good for me.
At the moment, I am really enjoy participating on Hive, sharing my experiences and learn about others. I still don't like to share too much information about my life on a digital world but somehow, I feel trusted here.
Just several days ago I had a negative thought and stress about my progress and ability on Hive. I compared myself with others and lost my focus and unable to write anything probably. Fortunately, I received huge support from everyone on Hive and learn from their valuable lessons.
I am so happy to be a part of the eco-system that encourages me to talk and share things that I am still not confidence enough to talk in real life. I can't tell you if this is my passion yet but right now I am so glad that I am a part of it. Hive keeps me motivated everyday. Everything I do and I would like to do, every emotion, thought both positive and negative, I want to share it on Hive.
Thank you @ladiesofhive for creating this contest so I have a chance to talk and think with myself. And to my dear friend @trangbaby who invited me and encouraged me to join this contest: Thank you.
Hmmm... I like this plant art idea 🤗🍷👌👌
thanks @foxkoit. I am lots of joy to make it now. Especially it is time to prepare postcards for Christmas & New Year 😍
For Christmas ... this can be cool idea for this to do :)
Re-purposing nature into cards or works of art, second life for both flowers and yourself, first in the fields.., then in the creation of beautiful works.
Both sides bring harmony, especially during trying times, wonderful to read your passions in the finding @dora381
Thank you so much @joanstewart
Your dried-flower art is simply wonderful! I love it so much! The one where you made a little bird out of a leaf is so creative, and the one to the right of it with the yellow flower is fabulous! Definitely a great job on these! 😃
P.S.: You really should provide a source for any photos that weren't created by you! It will keep your account clear of copyright infringement, and keep LadiesOfHive's reputation clear, too! 😉
Thank you so much for your nice comment. All the photos I used in this post are mine. I did use Canva to create the thumbnail photo for this post. Should I mention that I used Canva to design it as well? Thank you so much for your advise. I really appreciate it.
No need to apologies, please. I really appreciate you take your time to remind us about the importance of citing sources. That differs Hive from other social media platforms and I love Hive because of it.
The photo of me with my arms stretched over was taken by an old Samsung Galaxy around 10 years ago in a mountain in Moc Chau province, North Viet nam. And the latter one was from last year in an exhibit called Web of time in Te Pa Pa Museum, Wellington, New Zealand, just with my IP 6s.
Next time, I will make sure to say "All photos by me". That's a great and simple way to avoid confusion. Thank you so much for your advice. Enjoy your weekend.
Oh and I am so glad you like my postcards. When I saw the fresh flowers, I think it would be nice for my collection but did not expect it to look like a bird. After 2-week drying, I was amazed by its look and immediately wanted to make these for my friends and my partner's family in Argentina. Hopefully, it will be a nice surprise for them.
Fantastic work. @dora381!
Thanks for sharing.
Good luck with the contest!
Thank you so much @silversaver888
You're welcome @dora381.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you through your articles.
Have a fantastic day!
That's a nice perspective you've got there! Never thought that way but now reading your post I realize how much details I lose in my life and that I should focus more on everything that is surrounding me :)
Thank you. I guess I was raised and born in a culture where mental health is not a big deal, people don't care too much about it. Until I moved to New Zealand, I realised the importance of checking up on your feelings and emotion and everyone around me care about it a lot. That was when I started my new journey in life to observe things around me
Que bello post. Me encanto saludos amiga@dora381
Thank you :)
It´s a nice hobby, all those flowers look beautiful in those postcards, maybe i will try it someday.
Thank you. It was how I started. I just wanted to know if I can make it fine but then I got hooked with this hobby since then.
Your art is wonderful! And you wrote sincerely words!
thank you for your kind comment. I know it is easier to write with the feeling I have without thinking too much.
I have identified with you in many aspects. Your photos are amazing. A pleasure to have visited you, much success and bless you.
Thank you. you too. I wish you all the best.
I love flowers and I understand you not wanting to share too much personal information, it's something I struggle with every day, trying to be more sociable haha Greetings from Venezuela
Hi @lunaticanto, I feel the same. I remember when I first joined Hive, I was excited to get comments from people but worry at the same time about replying to them. I really appreciate their support but just didnt know how to respond. I make a lot of improvements now and I am so glad with it.
You have received 5 LADY(LOH) tokens for entering the Ladies of Hive contest.
Please note that since our LOH token is still so new, that it will be worth more if we HOLD them for a bit before trying to sell them. Some have been trying to sell them immediately after receiving them, but holding them for a bit will help them to increase in value! We are working behind-the-scenes to try to keep the price stable, but the "sell orders" are hampering the stabilization of the price of this new token. Please hold on to your tokens. Thank you! 🙂
