Returning online after a Busy Summer & a New Sketch in my Animal series

I'm excited to get back onto #hive.
It's been a busy summer, per usual, and with my summer cottage and various busy times, I've been in and out of the studio but no time to post.

Ottoline Otter

Ottoline is a new little creature to join my crew of Animal Posts in my little animal world I was creating.

I just love creating a series of "characters" as if they were to be in a children's book, but really they are stand alone pieces...Yet it does give one options.

Most times my characters have a bit of a back story. In this case Ottoline here is depicted in Georgian dress whilst the other characters are far more late Vicorian, Edwardian. Thus, I was thinking this would be a portrait on the wall of Otter Hall, perhaps. Maybe Ottoline "today" is an older lady who tries to impart her wisdom on the "Young folk of the village and countryside" Tho, I've not created her in her older form as yet.

As is often the case with me, I get busy in the Summer and art/posts go on the wayside. Well, at least posting on socials does, as I'm busy with my little cottage I let as a Summer weekly rental and other things. I'm always in the Garden or in the water and then in my Summer studio (which is too cold come Winter) and it is my 'break' of sorts.

However, I'm hoping this year to get things more streamlined that continuing to post more regularly and stay "online" during the Summer might be possible come 2024...of course this coming year is going to be "interesting" in many ways on greater scale, so we shall see.

It is wonderful to be back and happy to share with all of you. I hope you will be kind as I get back into the swing of visiting your lovely blogs and artwork as I get back into "online mode."
