Painting digitally from my black and white drawings - "Diana the Huntress"
Diana could not help herself it was, afterall , her nature to hunt
She'd tried teacups and needlework or lacemaking by the kitchen hearth, but it never would stick.
Germalkin called out in his Raven's voice
He knew what his lady was and he, much like her, felt that race of the heart and the pumping of the blood as he swooped down upon a field mouse.
The Game laid prostrate at their feet, caught in Diana's skirts
The pair had been at it again and now they had that feeling of remorse. That feeling that gave them pause to try things like needlepoint and crosswords over the chase and hunt.
However Diana was a Goddess
and one had the ability to give Life as well as take it. She and Germalkin both knew in a few moments the stag would stir and blink, looking about like a new fawn born first time; stagger to it's feet snuffling at the air.
His recognition of the pair, whom moments before had left their scent in the underbrush, would cause his hind quarters to tense and in a trice he'd be off, bounding off into the woodland.
"We're a pretty pair, eh Germalkin?" Diana would ask, feeling perhaps they'd reform their ways.
The raven would laugh and hop upon his mistress' shoulder and they'd make their way home for tea. But, in time, a scurry in the underbrush or a scent of wild game would call them back out once again.
I hope you like my little storyline for Diana
I was digitally paiting colorizing this this week as I've been having fun adding color to some of my black and white art pieces.
This piece is a stand alone piece in it's black and white form:
It was made for my witch's and familiars series and I've had some fun adding color to my most recent black and white My Emily Dickinson piece I posted about this week that I've begun to play with some more of my black and white pieces.
I love to think of a finished piece still having life
that is to say, in a different iteration it can accept change in a way that a person can evolve and add new habits or characteristics. I like to think of my pieces like this as it gives one a moment to look through previous works and know they can evolve into different things whilst not marring the original intent of the first piece.
I hope you enjoyed today's artwork and that you can find a moment in your day to indulge in your own passions and always remember to stay creative.

Ravens, huntresses, game. All of my favourite things! I love the colourising on this one, new life indeed! Or as you say the life is not yet over!
Wow the colors I would have not guessed this was yours. I was drawn in by the bow and the crow though! ;)
