A new sketch and watercolor : Victorian Robot

A new robot sketched and waiting for his friend to appear on the page.

My last post about my painting a little Victorian girl and her robot chum in a parallel time line has inspired me for sure. (check that out to see how she turned out)
This little fellow has happily appeared in my sketchbook, do I feel a series coming on? Victoria robots or some such?

Our little bot friend needed some muted coloration.

I Love color and often paint with a rather bright palette, but something about this 'Victorian parallel timeline' has me used muted tones like I recall from all the Victorian children's book illustrations I enjoyed as a child (and still do)

Of course this little fellow will be accompanying a little girl on an outing, but she's only in my imagination as of yet.

I hope you've enjoyed my little guy. I'm wondering, if I do find myself sketching out more of these, if I might not have a fun way to make a sort of limited edition print of these in a fun way. If it works out I'll happily share it with you all here.

I meant to comment on your little girl and and robot post but didn't due to massive time crunches that have been dogging me recently :S did you see that picture book that was illustrated (and possibly written I honestly can't remember but definitely illustrated) by AI?
