Wednesday Walk: Explore Hang Rai - Home of Sea Otters
Hello everyone, how are you today?
It's Wednesday again, it's been a while since I've posted in this interesting community. Today I will take you guys for a walk around an interesting place called Hang Rai.
Where is it? And how to get there?
Hang Rai is the name of a rocky beach in Ninh Thuan, a province with many beautiful beaches in Vietnam. Hang Rai is located south of the famous Vinh Hy Bay and about 35km from Phan Rang city of Ninh Thuan. The road here is very beautiful with mountains on one side and blue sea on the other. First of all let me introduce its name. Hang Rai means sea otters' cave. With a special terrain with many different rock shapes and blue sea, Hang Rai is gradually becoming a famous destination of tourist followers.
House of sea otters
In addition, with many small rock caves, Hang Rai becomes an ideal shelter for sea otters. It is for that reason that it is named the sea otters' cave. The terrain here is made up of large and small rocks that overlap to form many caves of different sizes. In addition, there is also a fossilized ancient coral reef that is becoming the main check-in point of Hang Rai.
Special rock shapes
Over millions of years, nature has created sculptural masterpieces at this beach. The rocks overlap to form different shapes. I can see rocks in the shape of a chicken, a dog, an elephant, etc. Maybe you can imagine the shapes of other animals depending on your imagination. There are even rocks that at first glance look like they're about to fall, but they've probably been like that for hundreds or even thousands of years.
Having a good time
My wife and I were lucky to come here on a cool afternoon and the place was almost empty of people. Here there are wooden bridges around the main rocks that lead us to different corners of this beautiful beach. Each of its spots has a different beauty with different rock formations. It took us about more than 1 hour to explore this area on foot. However, we didn't get tired at all as we were always eager to discover what was in the next spots. We really had a great time here.
I so agree with you its mazing the art nature sculpts over thousand of years

I have been to Vietnam but have not been to Hang Rai. Looks like a cool place to visit.
Yeah it's definitely a good place to visit.
Thank you very much for your visit @positivesteem
Oh and here I'm looking for otters! Do you know that they are exceptionally shy? We have a 5 day hike here in SA, along the beautiful coast. The year I did it we actually had an otter swimming across one stretch of river mouth (feeding into the sea) but only briefly. Incredible. Your beautiful walk also looks unforgettable
You were so lucky to see them. I tried to find some but I was not as lucky as you were. And yeah I think they are shy too, they might hide in the cave and go into the ocean when I came close. Thank you for your visit.
