Da Lat Clay Tunnel - The Convergence Of History And Beautiful Nature

avatar

Hello guys, how are you today?
In my recent post about Tuyen Lam Lake, I mentioned Da Lat Clay Tunnel as one of the destinations that should not be missed when you come here. In this post, I will explain why. This is a large place located by the legendary Tuyen Lam Lake and has a lot of beautiful things that have their own stories. That's why I wanted to write this post so I can introduce it as detailed as possible. Okay, follow me through that gate to start this exciting tour.

Da Lat Clay Tunnel is known as the sculpture tunnel or red earth tunnel. It is a large area located by the legendary Tuyen Lam Lake and about 15km from the center of Da Lat city. Currently, you can easily get here by car or motorbike. The path that runs around the lake to get here is also very beautiful.

Da Lat Clay Tunnel presents the history of Da Lat through two periods. The first period is from the primitive period until 1893, which is represented by sculptures of wild nature, wild animals and old houses. The second period is from 1893, when Alexandre Yersin discovered Langbiang plateau and Da Lat city, to modern times. This period of flourishing development is represented by typical objects and architectural works of Da Lat. Everything here from small objects to large things like buildings and planes is sculpted from clay. You can imagine how much time and effort it took the artisans here to create such a wonderful place. This is a great place where we can both learn about the history of Da Lat, enjoy the fresh air and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Below are typical objects and architectural works that depict Da Lat's flourishing development period after it was discovered by Alexandre Yersin in 1893. Motorcycles and planes from the war era are sculpted a larger- than-life model to tell about a fierce war in Da Lat. Typical architectural works such as Chicken church, Da Lat railway station, Da Lat market, Pope academy, Xuan Huong lake, Da Lat university, Bao Dai palace,...tell about the brilliant development period of Da Lat.

Dalat's famous agricultural industry also has its own area here. Agricultural products such as vegetables and flowers are famous throughout the country for their quality. Therefore, it is also a pride of Da Lat people.

Besides, throughout the campus of this area, there are always interesting places for us to sit down to rest and enjoy the fresh air. As a famous flower city, you will see many different types of flowers throughout the grounds of this tunnel.

Covid Park
In one corner of the campus, fun models of the covid virus are arranged under the pine trees. Through these models, we can realize the wish for the day when humanity defeats the covid pandemic.

Perhaps my favorite area here is the surrounding pine forest. This Sculpture Tunnel is nestled in the middle of a romantic pine forest. Especially, when you go to the end of the tunnel, there is a small dirt road that will lead you to the pine forest located next to the legendary Tuyen Lam lake. Here, we can not only enjoy the fresh air but also the beauty of nature.

Looking at the photos below, who do you think of? As soon as I saw it, I immediately thought of Adam and Eve. These two statues are prominently displayed on an infinity lake. Stone statues and trees growing on them represent their eternal love. I think this will be a romantic photo spot for couples.

Da Lat is also known as the city of love. Therefore, the statues of the gods of love are displayed in a beautiful location overlooking Tuyen Lam lake and dreamy pine hills. Bring your crush here and ask for the help of the gods of love.

And finally, this is the statue of Alexandre Yersin, who was credited with discovering Langbiang plateau and Da Lat city in 1893. Thanks to that, this remote land has flourished and become one of the The most attractive destination in Vietnam.

Those two head statues staring at each other is amazing. I've been to Dalat. I didn't visit this tunnel or some of these places. I did see some waterfalls. We went around a market. We saw a horse painted like a zebra. We went to a place with flowers, chocolate, nuts. We went to a few places but not anything as beautiful as this.
