CATS are one of the most favorite animals to be kept as pets in Indonesia. Many people are interested in keeping cats because they look beautiful and their thick fur makes cats look very cute to keep.

Angora is one of the cat breeds that are in great demand as pets. The origin of the word Angora is Ankara (the capital of Turkey). This cat breed does come from this region. But then it was bred in other provinces too. For example in the province of Dogubeyazit.

The difference between Angora and Persian cats that can be observed is from their fur. Although both are long-haired, Angora cats have thick fur but not as thick as Persian cats.

The fur on the face of Angora is also not too long. However, the fur on the tail can be very thick and long like a ferret. Unlike Angora, Persian cats have very thick and dense fur. The entire body can be covered in thick fur from the face to the tail

   The nose is the most obvious difference between Angora and Persian cats. Angora cats have a triangular facial contour with a slightly pointed nose. Persians have flat faces and very snub noses.

Angora eyes are large and almond-shaped, slightly slanted upwards. It is not uncommon for Angora to have two different eye colors. The large, round Persian eyes are set far apart.

The next difference between Angora and Persian cats is in the shape of the head. The shape of the Angora and Persian heads is also different. The Persian cat's skull is rounder. While the Angora cat has an almond-shaped head.

Persian cats are known for their small, rounded ears, while Angora cats have longer, pointed ears. The ears of Angora cats are long and pointed with a triangular shape. The ears are close together, erect, and tasseled. While in Persian cats, the ears are low and close to the head.

   Size is also one of the differences between Angora and Persian cats. Although both breeds can have relatively small specimens, Persian cats are generally larger than Angora cats. Angoras rarely reach 6 kg. They are also shorter in length.

Angora cats have a more ideal body shape. Angoras will look taller than Persian cats. Angora's body is more direct and slightly muscular. Angoras are slender and smooth with long tail feathers.

While Persian cats look fatter than Angora cats. Persian cats are also shorter and stockier. Persian legs are shorter but look strong and fat with rounded claws. Persian bodies tend to look round with short legs and a short, thick tail.

Unlike Angoras, Persian cats are sweeter, gentler and prefer calm and gentle treatment. This cat is very cheerful but not demanding. Persian cats communicate with a soft voice and large, expressive eyes. It can be said that Persian cats are quite indifferent cats. Compared to Angora, Persian cats tend to be less active.

Angora cat food depends greatly on age, gender, and activity level. Angora is a type of cat that is not fussy about food. Overeating can cause obesity. So it is important to maintain a healthy and balanced diet.

Meanwhile, the difference between Angora and Persian cats is that Persian cats tend to be picky eaters, but they will eat well once they find the right food. Persian food should be high in protein and fiber and low in fat.

Although most are healthy, purebred cats can be susceptible to certain genetic problems. Compared to Persians, Angoras tend to have better immunity. Some other health problems that are commonly experienced by Angoras include Ataxia or a fatal neuromuscular disorder that affects kittens aged two to four weeks.

While the immunity of Persian cats is not as strong as Angora. Many of these issues are directly related to the facial structure of the Persian cat. Although they may also present with genetic health issues unrelated to their physical features.

Both Angoras and Persians are prone to a higher incidence of a heart condition known as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. This condition causes the heart muscle to thicken.
