Digital Art Series: Galaxy

avatar

This piece was painted with guidance from a YouTube tutorial. It was especially satisfying to make the swirling clouds around the galaxy's center as well as the white and reddish nuclear core.

The stars that are distributed all throughout the space was included with a bit of hesitation since they seem to occur in front of the galaxy while seeming to be larger than the galaxy's components. But then again, they could just be considered closer to the viewer and not indicative of their size relative to the large object behind them.

Astronomical subjects are interesting to paint and do not necessarily have to be highly accurate, since telescopic instruments are limited in conveying the actual appearance, size, and properties of celestial objects.

More paintings to come in the future.
