The Every Day Dove!

Good morning/ Good night. Wherever you are, whatever you are ( line borrowed from Davincci). I have a few minutes before I have to be out the door 🚪 but thought I’d share this photo of a Japanese oriental turtle dove. I’m not sure about where you live but in Jamaica we had a similar species with slightly different features. The behavior however is the same.

The truth is, if it weren’t for the prickly looking buds in the tree I probably wouldn’t have taken this picture. ( not because it’s a common dove but it wasn’t in good range ). The tree seemed like a form of protection with its height and stems as well as the color which was similar to the doves. Bellow is a picture of the scene with no zoom.

Careful it doesn't poop on your head man. The "doves" over here would deliberately do that haha.

Animals usually learn from the humans in their environment 😂

I mostly see pigeons in Tokyo. I try to hypnotize them like a snake charmer lol hasn’t worked yet.

I can imagine. Doves seem to stay in the greener areas of the countryside while pigeons love use manade structures.
