This parchita drink is wonderful! This fruit provides us with vitamin C, potassium and calcium, besides standing out for its high concentration of antioxidants. Its scientific name is Passiflora edulis Sims (purple passion fruit), and it is commonly known as passion fruit, parchita, parcha, chinola, granadilla, passion fruit, passion fruit or passionfruit.

¡Esta bebida de parchita es maravillosa! Este fruto nos aporta vitamina C, potasio y calcio, además de destacar por su gran concentración de antioxidantes. Su nombre científico es Passiflora edulis Sims (maracuyá púrpura), y es conocido comúnmente como maracuyá, parchita, parcha, chinola, granadilla, pasionaria, fruta de la pasión o passionfruit (en inglés).

I remember when I was a teenager and mom would send us to the bodega to buy parchita. When we came back without it, Mom would ask what had happened. We would answer that the price had gone up, and she would exclaim: "That fruit, which is pure bush, is going to be so expensive! Without further ado, I show you the ingredients and the step-by-step:

Recuerdo cuando era adolescente y mamá nos mandaba a la bodega a comprar parchita. Cuando regresábamos sin ella, mamá preguntaba qué había pasado. Nosotros respondíamos que el precio había subido, y ella exclamaba: "¡Esa fruta, que es puro monte, la van a vender tan cara! Sin más les muestro los ingredientes y el paso a paso:

INGREDIENTS//INGREDIENTES:

-3 small parchitas, - 2 glasses of cold water, - 8 tablespoons of sugar, - culinary cream based on milk and vegetable fat, - Few ice cubes (optional).

¡For this recipe we got 5 glasses!

-3 parchitas, - 2 vasos de agua fría, -8 cucharadas de azúcar, -crema culinaria a base de leche y grasa vegetal, - Pocos cubos de hielo (opcional).

To begin, we wash the outside of the parchitas very well and remove all impurities.

Para comenzar lavamos muy bien por fuera las parchita le quitamos todas las impurezas.

Next, cut the parchitas in half and extract the pulp. We reserve the shells, since I use them to prepare other recipes.

Seguidamente, picamos en dos y extraemos la pulpa de las parchitas, reservamos las conchas porque con ellas preparo otras recetas.

In the blender cup, add the pulp of the parchitas together with the water, blend on high until blended.

En el vaso de la licuadora agregamos la pulpa de las parchitas junto al agua, batimos a nivel alto hasta integrar.

We immediately strain our juice very well.

Inmediatamente colamos nuestro jugo muy bien.

Pour the pulp back into the blender beaker, which has been previously cleaned, and add the sugar.Blend until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

Vertemos la pulpa nuevamente en el vaso de la licuadora, que hemos limpiado previamente, y agregamos el azúcar. Batimos hasta obtener una mezcla homogénea.

Add the cream and continue beating.

Afterwards, we serve a few ice cubes together with our creamy shake.
