Beer Diary - Boot Shaped Glass

First, I would like to extend a huge thank you to @detlev for organizing these fantastic beer events every week. They've truly elevated my experience on HIVE. Thank you!

This week's beer is from PARALLEL49. The craft lager from another local brewery in my city. 5.0% alcohol content and a subtle sour note. I must confess, while I'm not entirely knowledgeable in any form of beer…craft beers, lagers, IPA or pale ales… this particular brew didn't quite hit the spot for me.

The beer was provided by my boss, making it a freebie.
I don’t own a beer glass, so I turned to my boss, a beer enthusiast, for advice on what kind of glass I should get.
As soon as I asked him, I regretted it because he dropped what he was doing (working) and rushed out to get something to show me, a boot-shaped glass!

I must say, my boss is incredibly supportive and I am thankful for that. I was just telling him about BeerSaturday. Then he suggested that I take some photos in his bar.
He has a bar counter he made with wood he salvaged and epoxy resin.
Well, it's pretty neat to work from home (not my house but you know what I mean…) and a bar is just upstairs from the office!

Although my boss didn’t do a very good job pouring the beer into the boot-shaped glass. He made massive bubbles. Also, he grabbed one cold beer and one not cold…”WHAT? WHY?????” …was my reaction to it. I can almost hear you saying the same thing. He was probably too busy thinking about getting me a cool photo for my BeerSaturday post.

This boot-shaped beer glass looked like it could easily hold about three litres. Thankfully, my boss stopped after opening two long cans.
He fussed around helping me take some photos, adjusting the glass angle and whatnot, but they didn’t turn out very pretty for my taste. Too much boss’s touch…Sorry boss.

As for the taste... well, let's just say it wasn't my favourite. The beer had a rather strong sourness that didn't sit well with me, especially since the first can was chilled while the second can wasn't (what was my boss thinking?) and on top of this, my beer was poured from the boot-shaped glass, so I think I had the worst of it. I feel sorry for the beer.

I've had one properly chilled before, and they were not so bad. It reaffirmed my belief that beer should always be chilled to perfection and boot-shaped glass was fun but not needed.

Note: The beer in the boot was consumed by my boss.

最初に、毎週、楽しいビールのイベントを企画してくださっている@detlevさんに感謝の気持ちを送りたいです。
HIVE ライフがさらに楽しくなりました。
ありがとうございます！

今回いただいたビールは PARALLEL49 、これまたローカルのブルワリーで作られているクラフトラガー、アルコール度は5.0％、少々酸味が強いビールです。
正直言いますと、クラフトとかラガーとかペールエールとかよく分かっていない私なんですが、このビールはあまり好きでない…
私はIPAが好きです。

今回のビールは勤め先のボスが提供してくれました。。。ので、タダです。
ビール用のグラスを持っていないので、ビール好きのボスならどんなのがいいか知っているだろうと質問して…すぐに、あ、やばっ、聞くんじゃなかった…と後悔しましたが遅かった…
すぐに仕事を放り出して「こんなのあるよ！」とブーツの形をしたグラスを出してきました。

BeerSaturdayの話をしていたのでめちゃめちゃ協力的なボスです。
「バーで写真撮ったらいいよ！カウンターのライトつけてあげるから！」
このカウンターはボスが自分で作ったものでキラキラしている部分のライトの色が変わります。
あ、自宅がオフィスなんです。バー付きのお家いいですね。

で、ビールを注いでくれたのですが、泡がすごっ！
しかもこのグラス3リットルくらい入るんじゃないでしょうか？
ロング缶を2本あけたところでやめてくれたのでよかったです。
もお、写真を撮れと熱心にグラスの角度などを変えてくれたのですが、何だろな…どの写真も男臭くて…笑

そしてビールのお味は…うーん、、、
酸味が強くてあまり好きでないお味です。しかも1本目は冷蔵庫から出して2本目は冷えてないという（何やってんだボス）…ぬるさと酸味と微妙な上に、私のはブーツのグラスに注いだものを、小さなグラスに注ぎ直してくれたので、何だかな〜もお〜ビールに申し訳ない気持ちでいっぱいです。

ちゃんと冷えたものは以前いただいた事があって、それほど悪くなかったんです。
ビールはキンキンに冷えたのがいいなと強く思った私です。そしてブーツ型のグラスはいらない。

注）ブーツのビールはボスが飲み干しました。
