Trinidad Plaza Shopping Center, more appreciated in the past

Last week I had the opportunity to go to another city to visit a brother, he lives in the city of Cagua which is a little more than 20 kilometers from Maracay which is where I live and where I mostly visit structures to document them for the community. I have mentioned before that I would love to travel to other latitudes to share with you architectural scenarios, so at least I will start with the closest cities. In its opportunity I already went to the city of La Victoria and published a post of its most important square, but I have several pending tasks there.

I think one of the advantages of having an architecture blog is that we can somehow immortalize and show the world the structures of regions that we will probably never visit. I particularly enjoy seeing what users share in the community, I feel that at times I travel to those places, being their photographs the means by which the architectural oddities of different regions are made known.

The Trinidad Plaza shopping center is located on Sabana Larga Avenue near the Star Center shopping mall. It currently looks with little activity and in fact only a few commercial establishments are operating. Towards the parking area we can see that the mall is composed of two floors that are very high. It can be seen that there used to be a bank, dental offices, among other commercial establishments that are now closed.

Perhaps the most striking feature of this structure is its front face, we can see that the name of the mall lies in green letters towards the upper right side. Towards this side the structure is not as uniform as the previous one since we can see pointed or triangular elements that are perhaps the visual strength of the mall. Something that cannot be overlooked is the good look provided by the bricks which occupy almost 100% of the walls of the building.

The stairs are located in an appendix of the structure, which is also triangular in shape. These are spacious and wide, so that the access can be used by a good number of people simultaneously.

Then, we have the other side of the building, this is quite similar to the area that I showed initially, but it is notable that it has a little more activity, in addition, on the second floor we can see a kind of panel or structure adorned with bricks which is very similar to the one that holds the name of the building in the front. This element gives the sensation that the structure is wider from the roof. Towards the end we can see that there is also access to the second floor through stairs.

As in most of the structures I share with you, the green areas are always present, whether in grass, small bushes or large trees, nature makes itself felt with its characteristic and refreshing greenery. My brother, who has lived here for a long time, told me that previously this mall had much more attention and activity, but I guess the economic situation has been extinguishing the flame that it once had. It was a pleasure to share, see you soon.

It's not often that I encounter shopping centers whose exteriors are completely cladded with bricks. Although this rustic building material is quite common in residential projects, applying it in commercial establishments gives it a warm hospitality. This interesting effect could provide a welcoming approach for mall visitors. Do you think so @dinaaczib?

I have seen this material in another shopping mall, apparently it is very good and lasts intact over the years. That it can give a more homely atmosphere to visitors makes a lot of sense and I had not thought about it but it has an interesting purpose. I thank you for your kind support, best regards 🤗😊.

Although this mall appears a bit old, it still radiates with a special architectural charm - probably due to the overwhelming amount of bricks covering its facade. It shines with a homey feel, as a result @dinaaczib. ☺️

Yes it is true that it feels like a house, because of the bricks, I feel that it should be more appropriate but it is sad that it is so abandoned and lonely. Thanks for your support.

The brick cladding gives a great style to the shopping centre, I love this colour, it creates a cosy and warm effect.
