Facade of the Kirchner Cultural Center and Surroundings (15 Pics) [ENG/ESP]

It's always a pleasure to be in front of this building with its imposing architecture and huge monumental columns. A gigantic building built in the late 1800's and inaugurated in 1928 as the headquarters of the central post office of the city of Buenos Aires, it is approaching its centennial and I can imagine that the celebration will be wonderful. Approximately 60 meters high and 8 stories high, this national historic monument is located in the neighborhood of San Nicolas.

The style of architecture is Beaux Arts and its promoter is the city government, by the hand of the architect Norbert Maillart. Since its inauguration it was serving as the central post office for 74 years and it was not until 2010 when it was implemented as the Bicentennial Cultural Center, later it was given the name of Néstor Kirchner Cultural Center and in 2015 it would be given its current name.

It's curious that every time I decide to take some photos of this building I have not been able to access the interior either because of time shortage or because they are doing some private activities and in fact I think in other occasions I have already shared some photos of the cultural center some months ago. I think I will have to try again the entrance and I hope this time it will be successful.

There are many works of art and too many attractions in this place both for its design and architecture in the interior as in the exhibition works that are there, if I am not mistaken there is something called blue whale, when I get inside I will give many more details about it.

Speaking in photographic terms, I used my 55-200mm lens and for other shots I used the 18-55mm kit lens to cover the whole building and part of its surroundings as well as more specific areas such as the dome, the columns, the engraving of the name and these details of architecture and relief that fascinate so much.

I also wanted to take other photos (the following ones) with the 18-55mm lens from the entrance of the place, I think they were pretty good but if I had the option to choose I would have used a wide angle lens, curving the structure a little and getting much more attractive results and with a brutal perspective.

Extra Bonus Photos.

(Extra Bono de Fotos).

Here is an extra series, a bonus of other photos dedicated to the lines, walls, windows and balconies of other buildings in the vicinity of the cultural center. They are random photographs with no intention of specifically mentioning any detail of each structure but rather to appreciate the photograph in relation to the architecture and the attractiveness that they have.

Without further ado, I leave you with these 5 photos taken near the central mail station of the E line of the Buenos Aires subway, San Nicolas neighborhood in the city of Buenos Aires. A big hug to all of you and keep enjoying your Sunday or I hope you have already enjoyed it 😊

😍 I love this photo soot! I'm a huge fan of architecture photos and this building is impressive! I hope one nice day you can do an interior photo shoot as the inside must be gorgeous as well.

I see the banner advertising a coffee for $250??? The other day I got a letter from Buenos Aires and the total value of the stamps was $5100 😱 Is inflation so high in Argentina?

Thank you for this nice photo shoot my friend and have a nice day 🤗😘

I must plan a visit inside this building, I will definitely do it my dear Erika 😊

Inflation in Argentina is very high and it gets worse every month, you can buy meat for $4000 (1 Kilo) and the cost in dollars is almost 4. There are people who earn half a million pesos and that is equivalent to 560 USD.

Many times I experience deja vu 😂 I have already been through this in Venezuela 🙈

That is not good at all. You have left Venezuela for the exact same reason, now you're in it again in Argentina? Not cool.
