It consists of several sheets on which the photograph is pasted or inserted. The design of the sheets has varied through the ages. The earliest models consisted of sheets of cardboard or hard paper with triangular supports into which the corners of the photographs were inserted. It was traditional to place a sheet of tissue paper between the sheets to separate and protect the photographs". source

Photography took an important place in my life, portraying myself became an essential means to express and discover myself. Although, for a while I stopped doing it, when I took up this exercise again, I got results that still surprise me.

Last year I had the opportunity to travel to the capital of Venezuela. Whenever I go there, an aunt welcomes me with open arms, there is a family atmosphere that reminds me of my childhood, the spaces in her home, the smells, the furniture and the paintings.

I was able to see all the family albums, every photo and every story behind it, isn't it wonderful to see and feel your family through images you have never seen before? Grandfathers, grandmothers, uncles, fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, cousins, friends...

And there she is, Carmen "la bonita" a woman among women, the woman who was born, was a girl, a woman and a mother, passionate, flirtatious, loved. My pretty grandmother, with green eyes and crimson lips. Her departure left Caracas in silence, left my heart broken and my hands empty. I portray you with me even though you are without me.
