An Afternoon with My Aunt's Pets 🐷🐔🐶
Infinite blessings my dear Hivers! Today I want to tell you something brief but super satisfying that happened to me this week. You know that I love animals, my aunt had some personal errands to attend to and left me in charge of her beloved pets. And no, I'm not talking about dogs or cats, I'm talking about pigs and chickens! Yes, she raises these animals for her own consumption, but for me they are much more than that.
You see, these animals are not just food. They are beings that nourish us and bless us with their existence. They also deserve to receive a little love in their lives. For example, there are a couple of pigs that my aunt has had since they were very small. I have watched them grow and I have always found it fascinating how they interact with each other and with people. They are now huge, but they are still just as calm and affectionate.
That day I gave them their special food, the same one my aunt always gives them in their pens. They were asleep when I arrived, so I woke them up with a little bit of love. It was great to see how they moved their ears and made those typical sounds that make you smile. They have a very strong and peculiar white fur that makes them look elegant, even if they get quite dirty in the mud. And even though you think: "Oh, they are dirty, they must be super dirty," my aunt always bathes them, so they are clean most of the time.
Afterwards, it was my turn to take care of the chickens and roosters. I filled their water bowls and gave them their food. I like how everything in the yard has its rhythm, the roosters crow, the hens peck, and everything seems so peaceful. It's like a small ecosystem that works perfectly. Oh, but I can't forget Dolce, my aunt and cousin's dog. He's a rescued dog, one of those whose life gives them many challenges, but who are pure love. Dolce always runs to climb on me and ask for cuddles whenever she sees me. It's impossible not to love her with that tender energy and that look that melts your heart. I wanted to share with you some photos of this day because it was very special. Being surrounded by these animals reminded me how important it is to value life in all its forms. Each one of them, from the biggest pig to the smallest hen, has its own way of being, and they all teach us something, patience, gratitude or simply enjoying the moment.
I hope this little story makes you smile and makes you think about how we treat animals in our daily lives. For me, it doesn't matter if they are pets, farm animals or rescued animals, they all deserve respect and a little love. 😊
