Ending The Year At The Big Gunpowder Falls

I thought I would end the year with a few more photos that I took while I was on the Stocksdale Trail and the Sweathouse Trail which is at the Central Area of the Big Gunpowder Falls State Park in Baltimore County, Maryland. This area of the Gunpowder Falls State Park is located at approximately 10092 Belair Rd in Baltimore County, Maryland.

I took these photos in the Spring and walking around these woods is like going to a "happy place" for me. Definitely someplace that I am wanting to be but can't for now. Chances are that I won't get back out there till Spring of next year. Who knows what tomorrow may hold so I'll be happy re-visiting the Gunpowder Falls in my photos. I tried to pick photos that I haven't shown yet but forgive me if I have.

My husband and I usually visit during the week when there aren't as many people on the trails. It makes for a more enjoyable and peaceful visit.

Sometimes I catch some wildlife and such in photos like in my first photo above and sometimes not.

Sometimes I get only a peek but the woods are alive with the sounds of birds, insects and more.

You can find flowers in bloom throughout much of the year. By the water or in the fields, they are all pretty in their own special setting.

Many areas of the Gunpowder Falls parks do have water views. Sometimes a trail is right by the water and sometimes very near it up on a hill. This part of the Gunpowder Falls river is right by the trail but some of it is obscured with foliage during parts of the year. You can usually hear it though and it is great to see when there are breaks in the brush.

I'll be looking forward to being back out on the trails soon enough be it at the Gunpowder Falls parks or any other parks or woods. Hoping next year is better for everyone and, most likely, I'll see you next year (tomorrow)! 😊
