Yummy cookies for my nieces

Cookies are desserts or snacks thats mostly small, flat and sweet, it usually contains flour, butter, eggs and also other ingredients like nuts, chocolate chips, raisins and oats. Cookies can be eaten by anyone but its mostly eaten by kids because most adults try as much as possible to avoid sugar and fats.

INGREDIENTS

• flour (600g)

• butter (400g)

• sugar (300g)

• baking powder (2 tsp)

• salt ( half tsp)

• 5 eggs

• sorbic acid (1 tsp)

• shortening (fat)

STEP 1

Measure the butter into a mixing bowl and also measure the sugar into the same mixing bowl, and mix for about 40mins to 1hour, make sure to stop the mixer at some point to scrape each sides to enable everything mix well.

STEP 2

Filter and measure two teaspoons of baking powder into a bowl, filter and measure the flour into same bowl, also add the half teaspoon of salt and lastly filter the one teaspoon of sorbic acid into same bowl for preservation, after that put the bowl on the scale and make the sure everything measures 600g.

STEP 3

Break the eggs into the butter and sugar mixture and stir a little, after that .. add the dry ingredients bit by bit and stir, after sometime use your hands to mix properly because the mixer or spatula wouldn’t be able to mix it very well.

STEP 4

Take a tiny amount of shortening and spread to a baking paper, put a medium amount of the dough, cover with another another baking paper and gently spread out with a rolling pin.

STEP 5

Take out your cookies baking pan, lightly spread butter on it then spread baking paper on it, then after spreading out the dough, use any cutter of choice to cut out the particular shapes, I used numbers and letters and shapes cutter.

STEP 6

Turn on the oven for about 15 mins on high heat before putting the cookies inside, then lower the heat after putting the cookies inside, then continuously check for crunchiness but not to the extent burning.

I packed them into smaller quantity and seal them and lastly put them in the fridge.
