BUYING SOME FOOD ITEMS IN THE MARKET FOR THE FAMILY

(Edited)

Hey lovelies ❀️
It's your favorite girl @debbie-ese 😍
Welcome to my blog πŸ€—

It's just the third day of the week but it has been an activity filled week with so many tasks to carry out. But, no matter how busy I get I always set out time to visit the market to pick up some important things that I need in the house. I visit the market at least once every week to grab some food for the family especially carrots, spring onions, vegetable leaves and the likes.

Vegetable soup also known as efo riro or afang soup which is another type of vegetable soup is one of my favorite soups and I always love to eat it fresh. It may lose the taste, color and texture when you heat it once or twice. Also, soups like Ogbono soup can also lose its texture if they are constantly reheated. Without constant power supply it is tricky to cook these soups and store in the fridge else you may end up with a soup that isn't fresh anymore. So, what I do lately is to prepare a pot of soup that will last for a couple of days. So, this week I'd be making vegetable soup using some Waterleaf and ugu leaves.

I spotted a young girl that was selling for her parents and her vegetables were catchy - they were fresh and green. For this soup, I'd prefer more of the ugu leaves than waterleaf. Each bunch of Ugu leaves cost #200, so I got 5 bunches. I also got three bunches of Waterleaf at the same price but it was quite bigger in size. In addition, I love the fact that these vendors make cooking easy by agreeing to slice the vegetables into desired sizes. The only serious task you have to do is to wash thoroughly in multiple bowls of water to get rid of dirts.

Moving forward, it was time to get some fish. The size of the fish that were available was small but manageable. I decided to check some other sellers but I observe that the sizes were similar which means that they possibly got ot from the same wholesaler. The prices ranges from #2000 - #3000 depending on the sizes. Well, with a little bit of negotiation as usual i was able to get a good deal.

However, when the seller began to cut the fish he was cutting it too large than I had requested so i had to give him a bombastic side eye and politely told him to reduce the size. So, while I was making my way out I saw a man selling zobo drink ingredients, that is, hibiscus petals and flavors such as pineapple and orange flavors. I added some ginger to give some extra flavor.

Thanks For Reading and See You in My Next One.

Stocking the house is something I enjoyed so well especially when buying in bulk, nice shopping you did. 😊

Thanks @ene22. Bulk buying is actually the best, you get good value for your money as opposed to buying in bits.
